I caught the end of an episode of real life where this chick was allergic to her implants. She was going to get fat cells from elsewhere on her body put in her boobs...

This is the kind of surgery that I'd be interested in... they'd still be real (and at least I'd get closer to my pre-child D's than the shittastic A's I'm at nowl, and I wouldn't have to worry about something going wrong with the implants. (I have a bad immune system/lots of allergies).

Has anyone heard anything about it, or know what it's actually called?

Woa! I have NOT heard of this, but would also be interested if anyone has any info. I hated the DDs pre-kiddos, but I totally know what you mean now that it's been a few years and I'm left with...these... Never been keen on the idea of sticking plastic balloons in my chest, so...

I'll do some more digging around, and see if I come up with anything. DH told me to call one of the surgeons nearby and ask for info (he knows I won't get fake boobs... but if they're MINE still, haha...), and start saving my pennies.

ETA: It's called a "body fat transfer" from what I've found. And one of the sites (googled it) said "The fat transfer procedure includes three costs: the surgeon's fee, anesthesia fee and facility fee. Factors that figure into the overall cost include the surgeon's skill and training, the geographic location where you are having your surgery, and the technique used."

Recent research reports that fat transfer (exactly what you describe) is at the moment among the most popular cosmetic operations, even more popular than liposuction! I guess its a technique that is pretty safe, but i have no special knowledge about that

I had a fat transfer done. If you lose weight it don't come back. This is really only good if your at a very stable weight. I had fat put in my face and sure enough gone with weight loss. Thank god my Dr threw it in as a freebee cause I would have been sick if I paid for it.

The only people that qualify for this have to have a pretty high fat percentage in the area they're going to pull from, because when they transfer the fat they put it through a purifying process, and can only use about a quarter of what they take out. Maureen and Stacy, there is no way in hell either of you have enough fat anywhere else on your body to do this. And even with the right candidate, the most they can do is 1 1/2 cup sizes. And its like 3 times as expensive as implants.

Also, most people who have this body contouring done get it as a "Brazilian butt lift", in which they transfer the fat in your love handle down to your butt. The results are great, but at around 15k, I'll pass, lol. I'm almost positive Christina Aguilera has had this done.

OMG :rofl well, if i could change the name of this thread i would, because the brazillian Butt lift is what i need more than anything!!! (elep) (elep) :rofl :rofl

and that makes total sense Jess, they have to get the fat from somewhere and Stacy has none to donate!!!

and i love Christina, i haven't seen a picture of her in ages and i hope this is just weight gain and not caused by fat transfer :( but i think you are right Jess :magwink
