Hi, there i have this pair of jeans but i have doubt about authenticity, please help.

I do not think they are real. I have never seen selvage (red thread) on the back belt loop or on the front of the coin pocket. Usually it is on the inside of the coin pocket. Also, the patch looks odd. The white printing seems unusual.

I am not an expert, but I did sell a pair for $800.00 a few months back. I had a pair of the 501's from 1969-1971 in mint condition.

Is there single stitching on the inside of the back pocket? Also, can you post a better photo of the front and back of the inside label, and also the inside of the back pockets?


I ended up emailing Lyn Downey from Levi's and sending her photos, because I couldn't believe that they were real. But, they were. The email is [email protected] She is very nice and helpful. Let me know what you find out.

it's 100% FAKE.. there's no way 501 XX BIG E had a red selvedge on the coin pocket. it never happened.
