Fake jeans texture?

Okay so I am sure this will seem like a simple question to you experts out there but I'm wondering, aside from the details (pockets, stitching, tags, inner tags, etc)...do the faked up jeans feel different than the real ones?

I know I love the feel of my TRs but if you had to do a blind test where you tried on authentic TR and then a fake pair, would you be able to tell?

Sorry if this sounds like a weird question...I hope it makes sense.

Thanks for any input!

Usually fake denim is rougher and stiffer than the real deal.

Fakes feel nasty. $2 denim feels like $2 denim, $200 denim feels like $200 denim. You get what you pay for.
hahaha

well at least it feels better than a pair of levi's so if u r between a pair of levi's or fake TR's get the fake TR's hahhaha but just wait for a good deal on ebay and get real ones or go to emoda.com they have really good deals sometimes. i got a pair of billy's for 80 bucks. so u can find real ones for cheap just keep lookin.
^ you're joking right?

you'd choose a fake pair of TR over a genuine pair of Levi's?

Well I wasn't wanting any fake TRs, I was just wondering if you found some if you could tell just by the way they felt even if they were good fake (stitching and tags and all) My friend swears you can get them at Walls but I didn't know if it was plausible.

oh.. my response above was to matute- not to you.

yes, i believe i would be able to tell. not only by the texture, but by the fit.

fortunately, i have never owned a pair of fake TR. :)

From my experience, I can most DEFINITELY tell the difference. I've had at least two pairs of fake TR's in my hand in the past. One was super stiff and scratchy (although this wasn't noticeable until I had a pair of real ones to compare, and I was new to the whole jeans thing) and the other felt softer, but thin almost like it wasn't denim...if that makes sense. I agree with Pam when she says:

Right, my TR feel amazing....like as comfy as being in sweats...I was just making sure!

Thanks for all your imput, you rock!

Levi's are made of better quality denim than ANY fakes. That company still has to be responsible for the craftsmanship of their product and the satisfaction of their customers. Fakers have no such responsibility to uphold, so they could care less if their denim is made from car parts and cardboard. They aren't representing a company.

I saw a pair on ebay that was 98% cotton and 2% Polyurethane
^ I'm not sure I see your point. What kind of pair are you referring to? Levis?
Yeah, plenty of designer jeans of all major brands contain polyurethane as their stretch component

 Yeah, about 60% of my premium denim has polyurethane.

Matute, there is nothing wrong with Levi's. There is EVERYTHING wrong with fakes.:shake

i purchased a pair of fake COHs on ebay once. i knew nothing about authenticating them via the stitching, pockets, etc.

but when i pulled them out of the package and put them on, i knew INSTANTLY that they were fakes. the denim felt rough, not super soft and supple like the real thing, and the fit was horrible.

so yes, i strongly believe that anyone would be able to tell the difference between premium denim and their fake counterparts based on the feel - especially the members of this forum.

to me this is like asking if you can tell the difference between an acrylic sweater and a cashmere one!
Well the reason I asked was because I've never had an experience with fakes so I just wanted to clarify that if you ended up with some, you'd be able to tell.
You can definitely tell. the fake TRs I owned were really soft, but that was bc the denim was really thin--so much so that a hole in the thigh developed after less than a month. The pair I saw at Macy's was just really stiff.
well

well there are some really good fakes. u know and they feel really soft they feel almost like authentic ones i m not kidding. i had and expert compare them. Seriously levis sucks i have them but they sucks they are so like hard. idk my opinion alright dont go crazy about it. :woohoo
1. The fake pair of joey rainbows I got accidently were actually quite soft and very comfortable. Not sure what to make of it, but they were almost comparable to the real thing (which is why I didn't trash them/give them to the salvo). Dodgy zipper however. :IDK

2. Saying Levi's suck...it just blows my mind. :rofl Opinions, I know, but honestly, Levi makes some very nice jeans. Particularly when you get up into their "Capital E" line. Hell, they started it all more or less. Your Levi experience wasn't by any chance with a 501 STF, or a 501 one wash or something? That might explain the discomfort.
I know this is TR but I've had a couple of fake RnR and yes they felt awful.
1 pair was so stretchy, it was like an elastic band :rofl

(to Matute) aw man don't trash Levi :love
I grew up with them :magwink
501's - :thumbsup
