im pretty sure these are real but wanted to check just in case. and my question is on the front the whiskers are VERY prominent. is that normal? i love the fit but i hate looking at the zebra looking stripes. any way to reduce it?

authentic big sur avas, imo. the whishkers cannot be 'reduced', imo.
The jeans pictured definitely have been washed several times. In my opinion, big sur wash is *usually* darker, and the distressing is less prominent.
Here's an example of big sur front wash from the photoguide:


I dont mind the distressing myself, but it does draw attention, so if that's not what you are comfy with, I can see your point. Btw, Light Cordoba is one of the washes that comes with the 'zebra lines' similar to what you see in your pair, and they look pretty flattering on my personal pair(light cordoba chainlinks).
