Asking for help with fit...

Hello, this is my first post here...

I purchased the Laurel Canyon Los Flores Clean with crease, size 29; got them from the site, so I know they're authentic, and I LOVE THEM!!! The weight and feel of the denim is superb, and I love the way they look and fit, except...

...they're just a tad loose in the waist, and there's a gap between my skin and the jeans in the back. Everywhere else is perfect, the legs, if they got much tighter might be too tight.

If I go a size smaller, will they hug my waist better when I bend over? I've got a three year-old, so I bend over a lot. I know this looks great with you younger ladies, but I'm 45 and shouldn't be flaunting my thong to the world...

I'm tempted to just cave and get the higher rise, but the lower rise looks great...I'd like to make it work if I can.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I know there are ways to shrink in the waist. I've never tried and I know some washes/jeans don't take to it. Someone might be able to explain it more, but I think it involves soaking the waist in hot water and putting it in the dryer. You could also get it taken in at the tailor?? Some have done this as well. Wait for others....they may be able to tell you whether you should go down a size. I'm not sure how much these stretch.

Welcome, by the way!!

Yep paige waists do tend to be big (which is why I l-o-v-e them!!). Anyway, you can try to shrink the waistband, but I doubt it will work. What you do is you boil a big pan of water on the stove, then you dip the waistband of your jeans into it and hold it there for a few minutes, take it out (DON'T TOUCH THE WET PART-IT WILL HURT!!!) and then toss it immediately in a very, very hot dryer and dry until bone dry. it may work, it may not, but it's worth a try. If not, IMO, take them to a tailor-they can probably do something about it.

I've done the waist shrinking thing before; works for a few hours then they stretch back out...I may just order the 28s too and then just send one pair back...

Tailor's an option if the 28s don't work...

The Hollywood Hills isn't that much higher IMO... I know how you feel about bending over to pick up the kiddies. I have two little ones, and I'm looking for a pair of HH to wear on days when I'll be more active outside to make sure I'm not showing all I've got!

And what I meant to add was, maybe get the HH in 28, b/c the waist will be smaller, and the thighs run a tad bigger in Hollywood Hills?
