"Mens" MACKAGE Clothing

I just noticed they made some pretty nice stuff from the MACKAGE Line, how you guys like it? Esp girls since, to my knowledge, the mens MACKAGE line just came out in Fall 08, correct?

For the men that wears Mackage, how do they fit? I'm looking to purchase a coat for a present but my friend always wears a small, hence, 36 in those jackets and blazers and such. Seems like ssense.com only carries 38 though, big difference? Are they loose or tight fit? And hows the quality considering the price?

Thanks in advance. Girls can also shed some light in this too if they know since I think they sell some of this stuff in Aritizia and Holt Renfrew...

Love the Mackage coats; got them because of the posts here how everyone loves them. I got a Leane leather jacket for myself (it fits TTS and the jacket was quite light) and a 3/4 Elisa coat for my daughter. The styles are absolutely gorgeous, very well made and I think they're worth every penny.

Also got a leather Ari jacket for my husband and am waiting to receive it. I hope it'll fit because I'd love to see him in it (the jacket looks very motorbike cool and yet understated at the same time). He wears a size M/L in most brands and I got him a size 42 in the jacket. Sorry, I'm no help regarding the sizing but be assure, your friend will love the style & quality of the jacket

38 will be too big for him

Do you know which one you are getting?

I'm looking into getting either one of these overcoats.

Mackage Seal Mix Grey Overcoat - ssense.com
Mackage Neil Mix Grey Overcoat - ssense.com

Looks like they only carry 38, perhaps all the 36 are gone?

Sunny- The Ari jacket, did you purchase from Mackage's site? Or perhaps Revolve?

Yeah, the women's outerwear looks very sophisticated and elegant at the same time. Men's outerwear just came out at Fall 08 right?

Yes, men's started this year, My Neil is pretty TTS considering everyone said it is big, I actually ordered the Seal from revolve as well, but it is not year hear (any day now).

But I would advise against getting a 38 for some who wear S or 36.

It is a montreal brand, are there no other canadian retailers who carry it?

Can you order from Mackage.com

I'm not sure whether Canadian retailers carry it here.
I usually online shop here and I haven't seen anything except for ssense and Revolve.

I was planning to get it from Revolve just learned of this brand recently and everything's been sold out on Revolve when I checked.

Size wise, quality wise?

Hmm.. in terms of quality wise and style wise.

Will you say that Mackage is more for the sophisticated type while Mike & Chris is not as high end as Mackage? As I see it, Mackage only makes hot hot hot wintercoats while Mike & Chris markets for hip and everyday wear while some have an elegant feel to them as well..

Or.. am i just totally on a different page comparing apples to oranges?

M&C is better for Hoodies.

Mackage is thicker outerwear.

I think both are high end and hip. M&C sizing is all over the place. I have a M&C blazer it is fairly poorly constructed. But the Cadison Hoodie I have is very well constructed so I'm not sure.

I think Mackage is pretty well constructed.

Both a sophisticated just in different ways.

Mackage appeals to even those who are not fashion conscious and artisitc because the attention to details makes it obvious that it is a nice piece of garment.

Mike and Chris's interesting use of shapes and placement of zippers and buttons are unmatched, but it takes a different sense of fashion to appreciate.

I guess if you live in middle of no where get a Mackage jacket, if you live in LA get a Mike & Chris hoodie

I honestly would expect the quality of M&C to be higher, but Buddha is right- they are better for hoodies and are known for their leather hoodies as well.

Mackage is awesome. I wish I had gotten one when Revolve had them marked down.

I got the Ari from Revolve as were my other jackets. Even though I had to pay taxes, processing fees & high exchange rate , the prices were still better than at ssense that has 40% off & if they don't fit, I have the option of returning them . At ssense, it's a final sale since it's 30% & more off.

It's stupid how Mackage is from Quebec designers and yet I'm buying these jackets from US and then having to pay taxes to have them shipped back to the border, and I'm still saving money buying from the States as oppose to buying within Canada

Yeah. Ssense always seems overpriced as always when compared to Revolve, even when ssense has their sales. Although I did notice they MATCHED Revolve's MSRP on the brands that are identical because before, Ssense always had a bigger price tag.

I'm not purchasing anything in full retail price, probably just going to wait to see if there are any more discounts before purchasing. Thanks for your help guys. I'm adding Mackage onto my list now. I like outer winter wear as well especially styles similar to Mackage, any other Men's brands that are similar I can keep an eye out for Buddha? is SWORDS only for leather wear?

no those are definitely the big two, unless you want to get into high end designers, Dolce, Moschino, CNC, Dior Homme etc

Some of the other 2nd tier designers have interesting stuff too. I have this jacket, the pics do not do it justice:

Yea I didn't explain that very well, I have two M&C hoodies both are some of the best constructed garments I own. But the 'Essex' blazer I have is really bad...
