Proof that technology hates me (yes, another iPhone rant!)

So, the list of problems:

1) get iphone number 1. plug it into computer. computer erases everything from it and i am left with nothing no phone numbers NOTHING. I am also pissed.

2) iphone number 1 is dropped on the grass and shatters into a million pieces.

3) I buy iphone number 2

4) i plug iphone number 2 into computer and....IPHONE NUMBER TWO BREAKS IN THE SAME WAY IPHONE NUMBER 1 DID! So now I have a wiped iphone again that I will have to take to the goddamn apple store AGAIN during finals.

srsly I almost just want to throw this thing at the wall or something. but then they wouldn't give me a new one!

if I lose all my stuff again I am going to be PISSED.

Just broke my phone too (not an iPhone), lost everything as well. Including the only videos I ever had of my dog, who passed away last year

using some trend analysis, iphone 2 should have the same fate of dying by being dismembered into a million pieces as well

I know.

no my computer is fine they told me it's just a glitch that will happen in a small percentage of phones (hahahahahahaha whatever) and that my phone was just glitched.

You should sync your contacts to outlook so you have a hard-copy of it on your computer I don't normally use outlook at home but I still configured it to sync

Eurghh how annoying!

My fiance's contract is up for renewal and he can pick the iPhone for free if he wants. We keep hearing bad things about it though and he would be so pissed off if he lost his contacts! Plus he has an integrated bluetooth handsfree kit fitted into his car. Apparently they aren't compatible so he'd have to go back to a headset.

I'm going to stick with my Blackberry!

do not listen to the whining of an extremely small minority, littlemissdiva.

the iPhone is hands down the best SmartPhone out right now for non-business use.

contacts are generally backed up to the computer anyway, and if they aren't, that's the user's fault.

I think the biggest thing that will put him off is the incompatibility with his car bluetooth kit.

When he got his Tiguan the garage fitted a handsfree kit into the ceiling (is that what you call it in a car?) so there are no wires etc and he doesn't need a headset/earpiece thingy.

The iPhone won't work with this so he'll need to take a step back and wear a headset.

I like my phone a lot when the thing doesn't break! the first time, me losing all my stuff was my fault. I didn't know what the syncing thing meant so I told it not to do it because I thought it would wipe my music files like my comp did when I plugged in my friends ipod. So that was totally my fault - but not my fault that it glitched twice!

I wish the iPhone

1) had a video camera. some of the best moments of my life need to be recorded.

2) you can't press like 32 and get DA when dialing say if I wanted to dial David. My old phone did this and I miss it.

3) that you could text pics and not have to email them.

but other than that I really do like it. I swear! I have never been so meticulous about checking my e-mail.

Wow this sounds very complicated than it actually is. How did your data get erased from your Iphone when you backed it up on ITunes? I was able to activate and restore my 3G IPhone to every piece of information I had on the first gen Iphone seamlessly. you can restore any new Iphone(just in case you replaced your old device due to various reasons) you connect to ITunes from your last backup with relative ease. Something is amiss.
Iphone has some quirks in some other aspects but this is not one of them.

Why won't the IPhone work with this specific bluetooth setup? Iphone is bluetooth capable and it has successfully detected & paired up with almost all bluetooth enabled devices I have tried so far. I am not sure why your bluetooth carkit specifically may not pair up with it. There is only one way to find out.

I just got an iPhone 3g. Ive had it for a week and absolutely love it to death. I hope I don't have any of these problems with mine. so far i am extremely happy with it though. i think avatar is right, it is the best smartphone for non business use. i have had so many phones in my day its ridiculous, my iPhone is my 14th phone. ive had all sorts of smartphones, blackberries and regular phones its insane. i think im gonna stick with my iphone for a while now.
