Evisu on par with 7FAM and R&R?

I know Evisu has been discussed, but here's a SHORT alternate viewpoint.

Do you agree??
Asian Fashion: Evisu

i don't really like their cuts. most i've seen are a little bit on the baggy-ish side more fitted for hip hop style. the only japanese denim i own and like, are the raw denim like Flatheads and such....of course i'm going off track right now. geez, i need sleep.....

Evisu is hideous.

Some may use great denim, however they insist on
mucking it up with garish painted symbols, logos, designs etc.

In a polite word, Evisu is 'Urban'...not in a good way.

IMO of course.

^their simple seagull logo on their pockets are okay, but i agree that the other designs are pretty disgusting... one of them looks like someone vomited all over the guy's ass

but i have heard really amazing things about their quality, such as it being of the best in the world. it's just that the majority of their high quality denim is only sold in japan, while the marketing ploys in the US cater it to Urban crowds

Evisu makes some of the best denim in the world. so technically they are not on par with 7FAM and R&R.

The ones you all have probably seen are not representative of what is sold in Japan.

What is up with that design on the back? It looks like a grapefruit sized hemroid exploded.

Some TR are hideous, but the vast majority of Evisu I have seen are awful because they have the logo running down the backside, which even makes it look like a gross accident sometimes. The baggy cut and colors they use also make them look more like the average pair of urban jeans you would find at TJMaxx.

Ok Satan
I do not love all of TR designs either.
The gold sequin that someone recently posted is fug to the max IMO.
(and there is NO TR style that just continues to explode out of the butts and dribble down the legs )

However Evisu for the most part is way over the top in their hideousness of design.

I DID begin my post that they DO have some amazing denim, however it is mostly obscured by the horrendous paint and other garbage they decide to decorate the asses with

^ I agree. After Shelley's post, I take back what I said about TR. I would be embarrassed to take out the garbage in those jeans pictured.

(BTW. I wrote this even before I saw your post)

quality might be better 7s or R&R, but these definitely do not compare to 7s or R&R in the looks department

Most people don't realize there are many lines of Evisu...most of the lines' vision isn't what the original brand is about. For example, Evisu EU (which is the one that produces all the crappy washes) is a completely separate line. A company in Europe bought out the European rights from Evisu to produce under that name, so it's basically not even the same company. There's many other lines, but the point still remains, you can't classify all Evisu in one category, which is what many people do.

It's like saying all Levi's are crap after trying/seeing the $15 ones at Walmart. Those vs LVC...no comparison. Same thing with Evisu.

It's actually a Japanese Torii Gate (usually for passages to holy places).

it's just like how the pumaxevisu line is mediocre at best, even though it was one of my first pairs of "PD"

i did try on a pair of dark blue evisu skinny jeans with the symbol on the pockets in black which wasnt very noticeable against the dark denim and found them to be amazing in terms of quality and fit. The 24's actually fit me as opposed to the stupid vanity sizing of SFAM and TR. I really loved them and would have bought them in a heartbeat but then i saw the price tag ($230)

That's what I was referring to. I thought that was a pic of or signaled a temple.
