Cat question

I see tons of kitty lovers on this board so I figured I'd try asking here.

I am in LOVE with this kitty. It is seriously the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life.

Does anyone know what kind it is? I tried googling and someone thought it was an itty bitty kitty maybe?

I'd like to get 2 of them so they can keep each other company while I am at work.

I have to agree with Shelley, just looks like a kitten to me. I'm wondering, because of the hair around the ears and the face shape if it might be a maine coon, but I'm not sure. Here's a picture of a maine coon kitten I found online. If that is what kind it is I would definitely recommend doing some research, I have one and I LOVE the breed, but they do get quite large, so if you're after a tiny kitty these aren't the ones for you.

I hope you find the one you want, it's so nice to have a little furry love!! Post pics if you find one!!

^^ I am not sure if she is long haired or not. The angle of the shot could make the average short-haired domestic look that way.

She looks like a short-haired domestic tabby to me , but I would need to see better pics. If so, your local SPCA should have a beautiful boy or girl just right for you.

I have a huge soft spot for grey cats

ETA: HMM... maybe she is long haired?

OMG that kitten above is SOOO cute.

She may be a Maine Coon kitten. I really don't think she's a short-hair though because of the ear tufts.

Yes, Maine Coons get quite large. I have two and they are 20lbs and 15lbs. They are 20lbs and 15lbs of pure LOVE though. They are big time cuddlers and lovers.

Maine Coons are almost as awesome as Canadian hairless cats.

I agree, the kitty is probably a longish haired "heinz 57" variety! But OMG how cute!!! I love kittens, but it will be a long time before I have another one as all of my babies are getting a wee bit elderly, and change of any kind freaks them completely out.

I'd love to have a Main Coon though.

Canadian Hairless = The Sphynx

First bred in Canada, the Sphynx cat originated from a mutant hairless kitten that was born in a litter of shorthaired cats in 1966.

I would name him Harold.

Oh yes, they exist. They are also called "Sphinx".

For example, here is a pic of a Canadian hairless:

I would name this one John Gotti.

I dated someone (briefly) who had a few of them. They make me sad because I always think they are cold.

LOL! Thanks Brody...I try to stay away from Petfinder otherwise I will have an apartment full of pets. I am a "bleeding heart" when it comes to animals. I volunteer for an animal rescue...it's VERY hard not to take them all home!

Yeah, I have the same probalem and hard time going to shelters too. I am not sure how Zepher7 manages work everyday (with the SPCA) without having a house full of animals. I am sure she sees enough scary hoarders to make sure that never happens.

I think you're confusing her with me she's from Flint (note I almost typed flynt, like the style of 7fam ) about an hour up from ann arbor.

if I adopted a cat I think my beagles would be like oooooh, dinnertime!

I can never go to shelters though because I always want to adopt every dog there!

I have to agree with all the people are pro maine coon. I love mine, she has the best temperment and personality, even though they are a little big.

I volunteer at a shelter as well, but I always have a hard time. So far I've gotten my mom, sister, and grandma to adopt some of the babies I've become attached too!! HAHA Good thing my little girl likes her personal space, that keeps me from bringing home a houseful of my own.

Flint-town! I'm *technically* from Frankenmuth which is where I grew up, but I'm closer to Flint now. I'm thrilled...can you tell?

All the kitties pictured are cute! I would definitely love to rescue a couple or get them from the Humane Society rather than buy from a pet store.
