Opinions please

OK, I am in love with this little dress by Lucky Brand. So there is a slightly formal, but not really, event I want to wear this too. But said event is the first of January(6th)...so would this ivory dress look stupid then? Also, what about tights? Would anything look good? I am going to get this anyway, but I really wanted to wear it to my graduation thingy in January! (Another MFA, like the first one wasn't useless enough!)

Rho, that appears to be out of season to me. Maybe if you were wearing it as a tunic... Congratulations on your accomplishments!

My thoughts exactly.. If you love it that much I would try it out a few ways to see if I could make it work, but by itself I think it is too out of season.

If you like it, you should get it...I bet you'll find an occasion. I wonder how it would look if you wore it with black patterned tights and a cardigan over it? Maybe then it would be more appropriate for January. I like it because it seems like you could either wear it by itself in spring/summer, or jazz it up in fall/winter with accessories, tights, sweater/vest, etc.

I think if you used the gold and/or champagne colored formal accessories that come out for NYE parties, you can probably get it looking pretty dressy and still fairly seasonal. A gold shoe, a tight with a subtle sparkle and some gold toned jewelry would probably get you looking fairly winter yet formal. The problem is that the girl has casual hair and no accessories which makes it very hard to tell if it can be pulled off or not.

OK, so I got this dress and let me say I freaking love it! It is an off white, more so than shows up in that picture, and on my vertically challenged self it hits a smidge above the knee. I tried it on with my new lt brown (almost cream, but still brown) suede over-knee-boots and I really loved the look! Kinda funky, but that's what I was aiming for
