Simple Question: Are these raw?

Well, I have a feeling that my new TR's are not raws, but I wanted to know if they will fade like raws and if I should wait as long as possible for a wash, etc. The guy at the store said that they were basically dyed indigo and painted black, and I think it looks hella cool cuz it's like black with blue underneath. I got them Sunday and have worn them 4 times (monday, tuesday, wednesday, and today-thursday) so far. They came with creases behind the knees and on the lap (pictured).

I'm hoping that with wear the black will start to fade and the blue will show through (and I think it'll look amazing). They are extremely slightly pre-faded on areas like the waistband and the blue shows through on the thighs and a bit on the shins/calves and back.

So my main question is: will these fade well?

Thanks. (Sorry i just attached the pics...)
Oh and they're these

Those are not raw.

They will fade, but not like raw/dry denim.

That's what I thought...the guy said that when I wash them the blue will come out more, but I'm a little hesitant to wash them until some real creases set in so the blue will show more on the creases.

So if they won't fade like raw denim, how will they fade? (i'm a little confused about that statement)

They won't fade like dry denim because it is specially dyed to promote the wear of the dye. They are rope dyed so the cores of the threads are not saturated with the dye. Over time, the indigo wears off and reveals the white cores. The denim is also generally more abrasive. IMO return the TR's and go for some quality denim as mentioned below if you're looking for black--->blue fading.

A few of the dry denim companies make jeans that are over dyed black and will fade to blue. Some also have a sulfur top coat which also fades to blue over time. I know Ironheart has a few models which are over dyed black and will fade and 3sixteen has a pair with sulfur topcoat. Email the guys at Selfedge and blueingreen and they will be able to tell which pairs have these properties. I would also email for info on their overdyed black denim. They also deal with flathead and one other company. Giles is super helpful.

I'd rather keep the TR's. I really like them, I like how they fit (maybe extremely slightly tighter that I would have liked on the calf) and I like the wash. Hopefully they'll fade a bit, but if they look the same after 2-3 months I'll just wash them and treat them like any other jeans. I'll look into some quality dry's for my next pair.
