First Pair of Raw Denim, Slim Jim Dry Japan or Organic Ecru Embo?

So I've decided to jump on the raw denim bandwagon. I think the Slim Jim is the kind of fit I want but I need some help with sizing and choosing a color.

I am a 32" waist, I don't want the jeans to fit tight, I want them to feel somewhat loose but not too loose. Should I stay TTS? I would primarily wear these jeans with sneakers like some Diesel I'm Pressions or Converse All Star low tops.

How about length? I usually buy 32" for length but I'm probably more of a 31-31.5" after getting jeans hemmed. Should I get 32" for the length or be safe and get 34" and just hem off the extra length?

Also, what are the differences between the Organic Dry Ecru Embo and the Dry Japan washes? The ODEE is 98.5% cotton and 1.5% elastane while the DJ is 100% cotton. I'm kind of feeling the white stitching on the back pocket of the ODEE's. Which one do you guys like better?

Thanks in advance!

I want the jeans to fit and look like these after they have stretched and been washed: Nudie Jeans Slim Jim Skinny Jeans in Cold Denim at Tobi

What waist do you guys recommend then if I'm normally a 32"?

I think I will go with the Dry Japans and a 34" inseam. Just need to know what waist size now.

Probably just down 1 size. Nudies don't stretch like APC's do.

Check out my dry journal and you can see what a 32/34 will look like in the Dry Japan. They are a very comfortable fit. I wear a belt with them. I also have a 32" waist.

I would actually disagree with most and say a 32 inch waist if you are looking for a looser fit and want to wear them low, i am a 29 waist in most jeans and my i size down one with all my nudies and they fit snug but comfortable, they definitely don't fit loose if you size down one.

well, what Nudies do you own?

Like I said, unlike Regular Ralfs (which measure tagged size when new), Slim Jims measure 1" larger than tagged size in the waist. Also, a 31 and a 32 have the exact same thigh measurements so a 32 will not fit any larger through the constricting part of the leg. With stretching, which is inevitable no matterhow you size, I don't think he'd have any trouble with the waist being too tight and it sucks to have extra bunched up denim at the waist because he went one size too big. Just sayin'

This was very useful information, I probably will go with the 31" waist now.

Thanks everyone! 31x34 Dry Japan it is!
