She's been written about before. I think Roxy did a post on it
Here's a reader's comment from Roxy's post:
Personally, I only buy from reputable sellers on eBay. If you look at shoplilywang's feedback, buyers complain about the items being from China though she's listed as a US seller. I don't know, the whole thing just rubs me the wrong way.
And Lilywang has a third party page on Anthro stuff There's been some debate about it being factory overstock but she also has items there that are still currently being sold at Anthro, aka the Wisteria Halter Dress
^Yeah, I definitely wouldn't have bought from her if I knew about the shady stuff. My package didn't come from China or anything though. I won't buy from her in the future, but I do need to find out if my top is authentic now. I think it is, but I'll post pics for you guys to check anyway. Does Roxy at EA do auth checks? I'd hate to bother her about it.
You know I think it is funny that there is complaining about buying stuff from sellers in China when most of their stuff is made in China. Perhaps the good deals are because they are cutting out the middle man, Anthropologie, and making a profit for themselves.
even though they are made in china, the items aren't the same (eta: in most cases, some could certainly be the same... depends on where they are coming from, i suppose.)
example: blooming lattice cardigan
Oh no! I hope it's real, Roxy. hno This thread was a good idea. lol
I messaged the seller and she has been really cooperative. She asked me to send it back and said she'd give me a full refund once she received it. I hope it goes well! Thanks for all the support, everyone. :love
there's no way for us to know for sure. buy at your own risk.
i prefer to shop directly from antho or from individuals who purchased their items from anthro because it would bother me to wonder if what i'm wearing is real or not, even if it looks pretty darn close to the real thing.

I have a hard time buying on Ebay because suddenly a sold out dress, often from a previous seasons or a few months ago, will pop up and there will be a ton of them. Are these overstock or are they fakes?
I'm so glad to know about the Houston "sisters" --- they tempted me this week with the Dwarf Quine cardis but the sheer amount listed made me suspicious and look twice at the name and location and reminded me of this very thread. :roll
To add to the list of Ebay sellers that are purposely selling fake Anthro cardigans (and trying to pass them off as real, even charging the same equivalent price as anthro when they went on markdown)
Yvonnegoshopping - from Peoria Illinois, U.S.
Beware, a friend of mine purchased it and realized it was a bad fake.
She managed to get her refund, but she's still selling them online.
She had a lot of positive reviews, so perhaps people are paying $70 and don't realize they're fake?
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
