My gf is an extremely tiny girl, like 95 lbs but she really loves TR Super T. And do this late we can't find any that fit her. As all seem to be ok in the waist but there is too much room in the hips and butt area. One sales rep mention to us that some of her customers would buy 24 and then take it to tailors to take it in at the hips. The question that my girl has is that, if she buys a pair of Super T and get a tailor to take it in on the hips, would the tailor be able to retain the Super T Top stitching (I believe this is possible as it wold be sewn back together on the inside). Second question, she worry that once she does this, the back pockets on the jeans would be further apart then they should be. If anyone has ever gotten this alteration done before, insight would be much appreciated.

Possibly, if its a good tailor.

However, before purchasing a Super T, I would try out the tailor on a less expensive pair first.
Either that, or try ordering a size 23 from TR or from Revolve.

If she's short, maybe she can try some kids' pairs? Bonus, they'll be cheaper! A 23 is equivalent to about a 12 I think.

Revolve has yet to fill ant size 23 special orders; believe me I've tried. There are a few size 23s in super t's that pop up here or on eBay, and I sometimes needto have those altered too. . Kids jeans fit adults funny, IMO. They are straighter in the hips, fuller in the thighs and waist...made for kids.

I have had TR's brought in and no one can tell; she alters them by stitching right next to the original stitching. This works because no tailor can match TR's stitching. It's like a fold hem, only on the outseam, then cut.

i've had jeans taken in at the hips AND outseam but not with supers. the pockets don't move by much -- anyway, the tailors would know if they would move the pockets and they will probably tell you it would look funny. just ask them if they would, and stress that they are $$$ jeans so if they screw up, they can kiss your business and their reputation good bye. LOL, that always works for me ;) they can take it in at the hips AND at the back waist by the way. This evens it out a bit more but I don't know about super T stitching. Personally, I'd not touch that.

sorry to resurrect this thread, but i need my trs taken in on the thigh area!! should it be done in the crotch area or the outer hip part? TIA!
