I haven't bought a "new" pair of sfam for the longest time, the last pair I got was in October of last year, and even then that was not a new style or wash. Today I decide that I kind of like the way Roxy Mercers look and was looking for a pair in my size, and then I realise that the sizing has gone bigger?? I looked at other styles, dojos, bootcut... in different washes... same thing... it's like they all got bigger.

Can anyone please fill me in as to when they jumped on the vanity sizing bandwagon and if this is an across-the-board thing or whether those mercers just run really really big I knew that R&R practised vanity sizing but all my 7s so far were all TTS and it would kill me if I can no longer use 7fam as my benchmark for "TTS"

From 2003 to the beginning of 2006 I was strictly a 25 in 7FAM. I haven't lost a considerable amount of weight, I don't think. For the last year and a half I've found that I'm almost exclusively a 24 now. But I have to say, Mercer Roxy's do indeed run BIG. I actually need a 23 in those.

that sucks no wonder we have so many ladies here who can't even fit into the smallest sizes made. All of my 7's are also size 25 and I know for sure I've gained weight in the the last 6 months so for me to be able to wear smaller sizes just sounds completely retarded.

What's with the vanity insanity???

What's even suckier is that it's often pretty difficult to find the the smallest 7FAM sizes. I wonder if the vanity sizing will just keep going until all the 22's and 23's are forced to raid the kiddy sizes. Not that some of us aren't doing that already.

aww.. that sucks!!

some of the kid jeans dont have much shape or as good a shape. u can just tell u know. and they r not always as slim fitting on the thighs, etc.

That's because kids don't have curves. Well, some do...I've seen 10 year olds w/ more curves than me...okay, everyone has more curves than me. Anywhoo, I don't neccesarily mean the jeans; I usually jump on the youth denim skirts when I spy a size 14 or 16 on clearence.

Kids jeans are too short for my stilts-for-legs I have...the thighs are often too big too. They are going to have to invent a size 21 and make all styles in it at the rate they are going.

Don't get me started on vanity sizing; I seriously don't think it is doing anyone any favors in the long run...

I guess it works well for me, because I'm generally a 31/32, and it sucks to not fit into a pair of 32s. It's just my body type - even if I do lose some weight, I'll still probably be a 31. It does suck for the smaller sizes, but at least there's a fix for it - you guys can get your jeans tailored. If my hips are too wide for a pair of 32s, I'm pretty much screwed.

I hate vanity sizing.

Smaller sizes cannot be altered easily; personally, I don't need them shorter, I need them smaller everywhere else and long. I see what you are saying, but I still don't agree with vanity sizing; maybe companies should make a 33/34 instead??
