Havana question - about the distressing on the right hip...

...is it supposed to be a hole or just a frayed-looking area?

I have a pair and it's a definite hole. I'm scared it's going to start spreading and was wondering if I should patch it up from the inside.

Eeek, so mine is worn thin then...even though it's doesn't look worn. I can stick my fingers through even though the threads still cover most of the hole and the pocket covers provides a barrier from my bare hip/thigh. I'm guessing I need to patch it up then.

I remember there was a patch thread about wonder under or some kind of patch-type material (which wasn't a patch). Does anyone remember this thread? I'm going to try searching for it, but if anyone remembers, please let me know.
