Is there a guideline with 7FAMK for ...

...Cuts or styles when it comes to leg flare or taper.

Are some styles all one type Like boot cut or flare leg?

Is there a measurement standard for 7 FAMK. Like if there is a 4", 3", 2"flare from knee to leg hem is that considered a boot cut or flare leg? Where is the dividing line? Certain brands seem to have guidelines others seem not too. I have always thought 2" is a good place to separate boot cut and flare leg ...but i have seen new jeans with a 3" flare called boot cut on some brands.

I am still a newbie sorry!

Yes, the style number on the tag will indicate the cut. There is a Guide here where you can look up the style number and it will tell you both the cut and the wash. It doesn't have everything ever made, but it has quite a few of them. You can also do a google search to find what they are.

Here is the Guide. Comprehensive Style Guide by style # - now with fake cut numbers & Men's Style # Just go to the 'search' drop down and put in the style number for the pair you want to find out about. It will pull up if the Guide has it, Then click the link and scroll down until you find it highlighted in red. Sometimes there will be a style number that is the same for multiple washes though.

Also, with SFAM it usually states the actual style name (cut name) on either the inner waistband label or the inner pocket lining. From there you can run a search on what type of cut that is. (For womens for example: Roxanne and Gwenevere are skinny, Dojo is a wide leg flare, A pocket is typically a flare, Flynt is a bootcut, etc)
