A question about the fit of 100% cotton jeans vs. jeans with a bit of stretch/spandex

I am looking to purchase a few pairs of Seven Jeans -- in the bootcut or flare style that fit close to the thigh and upper leg. I am really looking for jeans that have a comfortable fit, but that can maintain their shape and not stretch and bag out after a day or two of wearing them. Here is my dilemma:

I always thought that 100% cotton jeans held their shape better than jeans that are 98% cotton mixed with lycra or some sort of stretch, for example, but I've heard someone from another site say that 100% cotton Seven jeans do NOT hold their shape as well and are more prone to bagging or stretching out after a day or so, and not maintaining that close and snug-fitting fit in the thigh and upper leg area.

Opinions? What materials that jeans are made of should I be looking for to ensure that I get a pair that will maintain their shape and close fit very well without stretching or bagging out?

Indeed, jeans WITH stretch material are the ones that hold shape best, as the material is designed to return to its original position

Ahhh shoot, I have a pair of 100% cotton Seven jeans that I've never worn, and hopefully they hold their shape okay and don't bag out after a day of being worn...now I'm mildly concerned...

Also, I know that some jeans have 98% cotton, 2% lycra; some are 2% elastyne....and there are others as well. What material is best in my case? Like, is there a difference between elastyne and lycra for example? Or does it really not matter too much...

elastane, elastic, elastone..they're all pretty much the same thing, they just can't say Lycra since LYCRA is a brand/trademark name.

Elastane = spandex (no such thing as elastyne). Lycra is also spandex, but like Nola said, is just a brand name.
