Attn Canadians: e-Retailer Shipping Methods for You!

I got tired of repeatedly searching e-Retailer sites to find that they use costly shipping methods to Canada (services that collect brokerage fees upon delivery, like UPS, DHL, FedEx, or are just plain expensive).
Get your favourite stores added! Let me know if there are any errors.

Remember to search AF for discount codes! The main page has a bunch under the header ("authentic") but also check out the Online Sales Section.

**CAVEAT EMPTOR**
1. Please note that sometimes stores say that they ship by USPS but still use courier services, so this list is just a general guideline.
2. Use the Search function to find out if others had poor experiences with the store you are interested in purchasing from, in case there are known problems.

Here's a compilation of some of the more common stores I've seen pop up and/or have special AF codes:

you are FREAKIN' AWESOMEEEEEEEEE.

i'd like to add Active Endeavors to the list of FREE canadian shipping. however, they use UPS so you need to contact them and request to send USPS instead (this from the CS guy i e-mailed)

On the AE site it says:

Canadian Orders (Effective March 24th, 2008):

Orders over $100 qualify for free expedited shipping. Orders less than $100 will be charged $20 for UPS expedited service.

So it's only free if you spend $100. Otherwise it's $20

I hate how they always have "hidden" fees like that... "oh it's free... if you spend XXX amount."

OH OH OH!

I checked out Labelspree.com

Quote:
Domestic Ground Shipping

* FREE Ground Shipping on all orders over $100 within the United States and Canada
* $6.95 on domestic orders under $100
* Delivery within in 5-7 business days
So I'm not sure if we're considered Domestic or not? So I don't know if the latter applies to us?

Although we ARE on the "international countries we ship to" list.

Thanks Vonnie.
Actually I found that a lot of e-Retailers exclude Canada from "International" or make a distinction. Maybe a lot of people inquire if Canada is included?

When I enter in a fake order on LabelSpree.com, there is indeed free shipping for orders > $100 for US and Canada. They also require ID for international orders.
US orders are shipped by UPS, so I am also waiting on an email to confirm that shipping to Canada is via USPS.

Great! Now I want to buy a dress from them!

So does Rock & Republic's official store. Sent me my two hoodies via DHL Express. Ok ok, I got them in two days (paid thursday night, received them monday morning) but still... both were worth $317, paid $118 cust0ms and brokers fees
I don't mind paying customs but brokers fees make me want to kill.
DHLBrainstormer
Thanks for the address though, I'll stick to sites offering USPS

Pretty sure Labelspree does ship USPS because when I ordered a pair of COH I didn't have to pay any brokerage fees

Discount Shoes and Boots for Men and Women at Gotham ships UPS but you pay a small brokerage fee beforehand and no charge when they deliver. They also sell on ebay.

^ Has this been your experience?
The website has the following posted:
Quote:
All packages to Canadian customers are shipped via USPS Global Priority Mail for prompt, reliable delivery and include FREE tracking and $100 insurance to ALL Canadian address - including Post Office Boxes. Shipping rates (excluding duties, fees, etc.) are posted with every item and multiple item discounts do apply.

Duties, taxes and fees are not collected by Gotham City Onlnie and may be due to Canadian customs at or prior to delivery.
Either way it sounds good! I'll add under USPS with your note. Thanks!

I remember another Af member telling me that, so

^ I think it's $25+ (not 100% sure, cuz it was a long time ago!) but yes, when I ordered from them I got it SUPER fast (like 3 days!!) but then I got a bill in the mail about a month later for handling, etc. I can't remember what service they use though, sorry!

Nordstrom to Canada

Yes, you can order by fax or phone, but there are likely brokerage/import fees:

Quote:
Thank you for contacting Nordstrom regarding shipping to Canada.

The good news is that we do ship internationally. However, the order must be placed via fax or phone. Currently, our website is not set up to ship internationally. You can, however, have an international billing address and a US shipping address. This is a good option if you have friends or family in the US, and then they can ship the package directly to you. If you wish to place your order via phone, you can reach us at 800.933.3365 or 206.303.4700. We are open 24 hours/day, seven days/week for your convenience. Any Personal Shopper who answers the phone can help you.

If you wish to place your order via fax, you can do so at 866.404.1852 or 206.303.6130. For faxed orders, please include the following information:

- Your complete billing address and phone number.
- Your complete shipping address and phone number if different than your billing information.
- All merchandise information including the item name, item number, size, color and price.
- Your credit card number with the expiration date.
- The bank phone number listed on the back of your credit card.

International shipping costs vary by country. The estimated shipping charge to Canada would be $ 35.00. Shipping charges do not include any duties or customs to be paid on the merchandise. The duties and custom fees are to be paid by the recipient.
Please note: We are unable to ship cosmetics and fragrance products or vendor-shipped items internationally. Typically, vendor shipped items can be identified as having a quoted delivery time frame of 5 ? 8 business days or longer.
ETA:
Quote:
Thank you for contacting Nordstrom with your inquiry about the shipping service we use for International orders.

The shipping service that we employ is DHL. If there are any duties or Tariffs that are due, they are collected at the time of delivery.
