| | | work together section Obviously many people here have graduated/are no longer in school, but there are plenty of students in HS and college. I was thinking we could have a section dedicated to hw help/puzzle solving etc. It could be partly for people who need help on school work, but could also include tips for video game hints, crossword puzzles, riddles/jokes etc. Maybe people would use it, maybe not. I know I would post there a lot for hw help and riddles.

| | | ^On that note, I took my calc 2 test today, and lets just say I was confused the whole way through, but I was the first to turn in, 30 mins before anyone else, and the teacher had a look of shock on his face going over it, didn't call me back up there to look something over again, so I think I aced it.
(I always stay the whole time when taking a test in class, especially if I turned it in at a time the teacher can look through, if you made a huge mistake, they'll normally ask you to come look at a problem again)
and I'm always available for math & physics help to anyone who needs it, so dont be shy.

| | | i am pissed right now keri.
so I definitely got a 100 on my alg 2 quiz...math is my subject. okay, so I took the test and NOBODY IN MY CLASS FINISHED. Not a freaking soul.
so B day (we have alternating classes) takes it and she took 5 problems off. everybody finished it.
so I didn't finish a lot of them because I didn't have time and they all had half an hour to spare.
she'd better be a nice grader. I am seriously pissed. I had a debate with somebody from the other day about it and they were like "why do you guys think you deserve points back?" what the crap! because she shortened the damn test for you and you didn't have to rush your ass through it!!
so yes, I am ranting...I've been ranting about this all day to anybody who will listen.

| | | She will not be penalizing you for not finishing. If your grades aren't appropriately adjusted, talk to your administrators, and if they still do nothing, go to the board.
Just so you know I'm in your corner, don't be intimidated by her, I had a teacher try to intimidate me withthe fact that she was holding my grades in her hands once over something similar. I talked to administration, and oddly enough, I didn't need to be in her class, I took a study hall instead and just took her tests to get my grade (small school, one teacher per subject). They didn't fire her, I think, only because she had a announced her plans to resign the year after that year.

Think its a great idea to have a section to help students!

| | ^ I didnt mean to sound show-offy lol Just thought if anyone was studying the same, then they would know who to pm without waiting for responses to a post, like you said Its always good to get a 2nd opinion on something, I posted a few homework questions on the chat section of HF (LONG time ago) and people were really helpful. Would be good to have a specific section for this sort of thing

| | well, i am really good at listening and helping to work problems out! as for a particular subject, i studied bio for a while but then switched to hotel restaurant management which was a lot of hands on work as opposed to textbook classes. so i def wouldn't be as much help as other here.
otherwise... i'm a f-ing fantabulous bartender! so if you need help making a drink or 2, lol...
and i'm up for the riddles/puzzles portion of this thread, too.
