| | | So we are working on auth stickies. And they will be very detailed. What can we do to keep fakers from seeing them and improving their technique?

| | | This has always been my worry about the sticky guides. They help people ID fakes, but they help fakers make better fakes.
I have no idea what to do about it. |

| | | Is there a way to make it only visible to approved members? Like they have to have x posts and been a member for x days.
It would suck for newbies, and our experts would have to answer more questions, but it might be worth it.
Little details like on the new rainbow joey tags are the things that would be good tells, unless the fakers caught wind of it.

| | | I was thinking along the same lines, hidden well or protected. Can't do anything if they are out in the open. |

| | | I think its a waste of time to hid these. People need to see them. Thats the whole point of the site. Fakers will find ways to continue faking jeans regradless. They can go buy a pair and copy it exactly ... |

And you know... at least in terms of seven, even though hf was around spreading the gospel about fakes for a long time... those fakers STILL can't come close most of the time! |

They will always mess it up, since they are mass producing for the market, and will NEVER spend the amount of time to the details that the authentics do. Hence the cheap cheap wholesale prices...A sticky wicket we have...
Hiding the sticky's will not stop anyone from coming and copy/paste of screen shot taking after they have been members for the 'correct' amount of time. We saw this at HF with a seller of fakes taking the TR guide for her own use...(rolls eyes). |

| | | I'm starting to think what the hell does it matter? because the things that make them look auth are too $$$ for fakers to reproduce, just look at the fake super t's, and the horrible crystals on SFAM and R&R.
You guys are right
I was having a momentary fear fest.

| | | I don't think we have to worry about fakers making their fakes better. It'll cost them more money and in the end, they won't be profitting as much. |
