THANK YOU for that super easy to follow guide!!

I haven't used a sewing machine for over 6 years and this was easy, even for me. Once I got the hang of it, it was a breeze to do--my second pair was done twice as fast as the first (took me about 45 minutes to get the first pair done since I ran into a lot of problems). Definitely beats paying $20 for a tailor to do it, and now the fiance will start giving me his jeans to hem as well!

thread question

i was looking at invisible thread on-line and noticed there are two 'colors': clear & smoke. have you ever used the smoke thread to hem your jeans?

It seems that you've put a great amount of time into your article and I want a lot more of these on the internet these days. Well, anyways... it certainly was very informative for me.

THANK YOU! i see it has been years since you first posted this thread, but the tutorial and photos are the best I've seen, and I have looked at a lot.

I actually succeeded in hemming a pair of my daughter's jeans tonight following this tutorial. I just found that I needed to use a walking foot on my machine to go over the seams.

Now, I plan to try a pair of flared jeans following another poster's thread link (from page 9, I think).
