For me personally, when I do auction-style listings, I start the bid amount and the same price I would mark it at for a fixed price listing (or for the price I would accept as a best offer). So I usually have no problem ending it at that price for someone. Especially if it's been listed at the price before without selling.
But if I have a bunch of watchers/questions/interest, then I will ride it out.
They have already bid, so you've got the sale. If you think there will be others then just wait.
