Ebay Return Question

I was contacted by a buyer who wants to return an item they purchased from me off of ebay due to the measurements being off. I am going to accept the return but what is the proper way to handle with shipping costs? Do I offer a refund minus original shipping and have the buyer pay the return shipping as well? I am forunate not to have had this happen to me before. TIA!

are the measurements significantly off? If you you should issue a full refund + return shipping.

If not you should do a refund minus shipping, and they pay for their own return shipping.

The buyer is saying significantly off on one measurement and I don't want to argue. I want to cooperate but don't want to be out original and return shipping. I guess I just eat it and it is the cost of doing business as you always say! Thanks for the advice.

agree, or have them send photos of the measurements. That is what I usually do. I find most of the time it is a case incorrectly measuring on the buyers part. I usually send them this handy guide from Blue In Green (Soho) to help them see how to measure accurately:

Blue in Green . . . a mens store in Soho Nyc

Props to BIG for the guide, they sell great stuff.

Agree. I recently allowed a return on a pair of jeans because the buyer accused me of not disclosing a stain. I should have asked for pictures of the supposed stain before agreeing to the return. Should have also realized when the buyer didn't complain that I wasn't returning their shipping or paying for the return shipping that something was up. I got them back and there was definitly no stain. People sometimes just get buyers remorse too. And get away with it!
