Cheapest way to ship a large amount?

i know this question has been asked but I can't find the thread. Whats the cheapest way to ship a large amount of clothing/accessories? Which carrier should I use, and is it better to send one giant box or 2 medium?
TIA

Usually it is best to send it all in one box. I find that Fedex Ground is usually cheaper, especially if you need to insure it and get signature confirmation (insurance is cheaper through Fedex then USPS). But sometimes Parcel Post will be less. It all just depends on the weight and distance you are shipping. If it is only a state or two away, it is usually always best to go with Fedex.

Also depends on the sizes of the boxes. Check on the sites to find out what qualifies as an oversized box. If the boxes is big they add additional charges which often times makes it cheaper to ship using several boxes. Plus would depend on if you have a fedex account set up. If you just take it into a store that offers fedex shipping it probably will not be cheaper.

does it cost anything to make a fedex account? sounds like a good deal though because I often ship things to friends at the other end of the country in big boxes lol
