Anyone used auctiva shipping insurance?

I'm sick of having international ebay buyers refuse to pay for insurable shipping services and then filing claims against me when their postal system steals their packages, so I'm thinking about requiring auctiva insurance on my international priority flat rate and first class packages. Has anyone used this before? Are they pretty good about coverage? How do they work for first class international / priority flat rate international (ie services that don't track all the way to the destination)? How could I prove that the package had been lost or stolen without tracking, ie when the buyer could just be scamming me?

I suggest shipping only with Express so it comes with tracking and saving yourself the headache of all the claims you are going to get.

Have not used this exact 3rd party service but they work similar. You would sign an affidavit stating the package did not arrive, your buyer would do the same. So if the buyer is an actual scammer or there is credit card fraud involved you probably wouldn't have much cooperation from them. The amount of time that you need to wait to file a claim and for it to be processed can be a long time. Usually takes more than 45 days, at which point your pissed off buyer has already filed a dispute, received their money back and has no reason to be cooperative by signing the affidavit saying they did not receive the package. Many will just ignore your request and you will lose the claim by default. I personally stopped using 3rd party insurance except on occasion.

Express mail with tracking and insurance is the way to go. Buyers "refusing" to pay for it is not a problem. You simply don't give them the option of another method. If they do not like your shipping method cancel the sale and move on.
