Pls Help: Buyer says I got measurements wrong... sent these pics

One of my buyers said the measurements I listed in an auction are wrong by quite a bit. He wants to return the item. I'm not a tailor and I certainly concede I could have been wrong, but I think he's not doing the measurements correctly ... definitely different than how I did them. Can someone please verify that he got these right or wrong?

One the first picture, he's clearly pulling pulling the collar down and not pulling the measuring tape all the way down to the end of the garment.

On the 2nd picture, it looks to me like he's measuring from a point that is well in front of the underarm point. The part of where he's measuring would show on the front of the jacket. He says I was off by 3.5 Inches which is quite drastic. His measurement is inconsistent with an XL, which this jacket is.

I measure length from under the collar for length.

His chest measurement is wrong it should be from where the white arrow is.

I measured from the top of the collar for mine, so on that part he's fine. In Pic 1, I am noticing that the fabric is bunched up under the collar, which makes me think it's being pressed downwards.

In both pictures, I'm also noticing that the garment isn't laid flat. There are tent-like ridges in both pictures which would cause the lengths to be artificially shortened.

I think he's manipulating the jacket on the surface to show the measurements he wants.

When I ask him to re-do the pictures, should I ask that he use an actual tape measure? That electronic device has a keypad on it, which I suppose might be able to display anything he wants. I'm not sure or not... I've never used one before.

I agree that he's not taking the chest measurement correctly. I would just take the return though.

Not sure how far off your length measurement is from his but that looks like it is measured inaccurately. Even if he is measuring from the collar he should measure down the center of the jacket (there is a seam there) he is obviously measuring off to the side of the seam and that could change the length.

You could request additional measurements with an actual tape measure done correctly but at best you could hope to negotiate a refund minus shipping. If he files a dispute he will win.
