Where to have a wallet repaired?

I have been using the same Prada wallet for about 6 years and recently the zipper broke. The rest of the wallet looks great and I really love this thing, but don't want to pay $500 on ebay for a replacement. I don't even know where to start looking for repairs. Does anyone know of a reputable business that does this kind of work? The zipper still moves but it wont stay together.

Its sort of similar to this one and its the outside zipper that is broken. I have no idea if the one in the listing is real though.

Authentic Prada Saffiano Calf Leather Wallet Brand New In Box | eBay

I would appreciate any suggestions as I love this wallet more than any other I have ever owned.

A tailor would be able to repair it or possibly recommend someone who is experienced wallets/leather work. You might also be able to find a reputable person online that you could send the wallet to. Just make sure they have experience doing that particular type of item. If the tailor is not confident they can complete the task flawlessly I would look around for a different tailor. Someone should be able to take care of it.

Thanks. I am in the process of looking but can't find anyone in the local area. I guess I should have posted this on the purse forum website because I know this has to be an issue a lot of people have.

Try getting a pair of pliers and squeezing the part that pushes the sides of the zipper together. It may have loosened up enough that it doesn't close the zipper properly. I fixed a jackets zipper this way. Worth a try...

Hey, thanks for this tip! It worked for me, on a favorite purse that had the same zipper problem.

A really good one to know!
