ebay sucks!! UPDATE: I need advice now!! Buyer pays last minute?!? Left neg?!? WTH

So someone bids on my item several hours before it ended and was the only bidder but no payment in 3 days or communication (i sent an invoice)..i emailed the buyer and they said "oh i didnt know i bought those" and i wrote back and said yes you bid and were the only bidder and please pay so i can mail the jeans out. Of course i know they are not going to pay. Lame. They know how ebay works. So what do i have to do?? Well what can i do- im the seller who gets crapped on! So i opened a non-paying buyer claim so i can at lest get my final value credit back. I get tird of this happeninv on ebay but what can you do? Nothing really. Guess i will just blockthem after the case is closed. And hope it doesnt happen again.sorry for the rant!

Best you can do is file a nonpaying bidder and relist. If you try to force them into the transaction they could just file a dispute when they get it and force you to accept a return, in the process you would lose the shipping you paid to send it.

I bid on something.. had no idea I won it, forgot to check.. and there were like 20 invoices from the seller in my spam folder (yay gmail) I apologized profusely and paid for the item... seller was really awesome about it, apparently that sort of thing happens a lot? annoying, but anyway.. maybe they will pay? (Or maybe Im a hopeless optimist. I only list fixed price with immediate payment required)

It's not ebay that sucks. It is inconsiderate people who suck.

I get more upset when there were other people who had bid on it causing me to really lose the sale. (Rarely will someone accept a 2nd chance offer when the high bidder doesn't pay in my experience). If the non-paying bidder was the only bidder and didn't pay then I really am not out much as it wasn't going to sell anyway. I have learned not to consider an item sold until it is actually paid for.

Seriously. I don't understand why people bid if they don't want to win. It makes no sense.

Sorry OP! Happens to me all the time.

Happens to me constantly... Need to relist and file NPB. Or you can second chance offer the second highest bidder.

^ she was the only bidder Only 1 bid. So I am waiting to close the NPB case in 2 more days then I will have to relist. Seriously, if you bid PAY! And whats even sucks more is that you can send negative feedback for buyers to let others know how much they suck!

Stupid buyer left me negative feedback for sending daily invoices and opening a NPB case. Lame. This will be removed, right? I mean how can feedback be left is a transaction is not complete?

Have you already closed the case and received your FVF's back? If so, they shouldn't be able to leave you a neg. I had one removed by ebay once when someone left me a neg after I had already finished the NPB process. Report the feedback and see if you can get it removed. Calling works best.

On a side note, no need to send invoices daily. Someone is either going to pay or not. No sense trying to annoy them into paying and risking this kind of outcome. all imo of course.

eta: 4 of the only 24 feedback that this buyer has ever left, are negatives. Sounds like someone likes to leave negs.

I can close the case tonight around 11.
I am hoping it gets removed once i close and get fvf back.i just dontunderstand why fb can be left if there is an outstanding npb case? I will have to call if not. If it stays it just makes her look stupid.i mean who leaves neg fb that says they didnt pay so npb was filed? Anyways this has been annoying more than anything. Ive blocked her. Oh she emailed me telling me i was crazy because of the npb and its sellers like me that make her not trust ebay. Wth? I had to lol at that one. I think she is prob one of those ppl you can never make happyso she gets enjoyment out of neg feedback.

It is 100% ebay's fault. Any possible safeguard that existed for a seller as a preventative measure against those "recreational bidders" has already been intentionally removed by ebay.

Omg I don't know what to do! She freaking paid when there was almost no time left. The case was to close tonight around 10-11 (when I could close it)...I don't want to send these to her because she is probably going to complain and want to return because she said she never bid and now I can't get neg fb removed! 10 years pos feedback and now this?? So should I refund the money and cancel the transaction (send a request)? Please help! Lol. This has never happened! I am going to try to call ebay about the feedback.

They completed their end of the transaction which is what you were asking for with all the invoices and filing the report, now you have to complete your end. Buyers frequently take forever to pay or don't want to at all, I'm kind of surprised you've never seen that before in 10 years of selling. A good 10-20% of my auctions end in NPBs. You could ask them if they want to cancel the transaction or if they want you to actually send the item, but it's kind of up to them.

If you do decide to call eBay Customer Support, the number is 866.877.3229 and they have been pretty good with my issues in the past. Sorry about this issue, I know how much it sucks

Agree w/ Amber about not sending daily invoices. Send 1 invoice, follow up a few days later, file a dispute a few days after that if you don't hear from the buyer.

If you need immediate payment, then run fixed price w/ immediate payment. Otherwise you need to accept the fact that sometimes people are not going to pay.

Since the buyer did pay in this case you are obligated to ship the item. You might be able to get the feedback removed depending on how you communicated with the buyer. I had similar cases though where they did not remove the feedback. You might also be able to request that that buyer changes the feedback... just explain the situation and they might work with you.

Actually as I mentioned above they have the option for immediate payment available to sellers. Prior to that there was never a real preventative measure to use against so called "recreational bidders". At best you could file a NPB and leave negative feedback, buyer could then leave the seller negative feedback. Buyer feedback was quite meaningless, the damage the buyer did to the sellers account was significantly worse since seller feedback is actually useful to the seller. It's not like you could actually block a buyer who had excessive negative feedback. Only if they had a negative (less than 0) feedback score were you able to block them from buying your items.

Also just my opinion/advice as a seller ..... If you get a positive feedback that is kind of negative/complaint its best not to use the feedback reply to respond to it. It draws unnecessary attention to that feedback.

Well don't be surprised if she now decides she doesn't want it when you send it. Forces you to return it with a dispute and makes you eat your shipping.

Best thing to do when a buyer contacts you saying they do not want the item - cancel the transaction. That way you do not need to deal with them ASAP and can relist the item (instead of waiting forever and risking pissing them off with multiple invoices and disputes.) If they do not want the item they will find away to get out of the transaction and its only going to hurt you financially and waste your time.
