Paying through Paypal "goods" for eBay item?

The sellers email address is wrong on eBay/paypal and they claim they can't change it because the listing has ended. Is sending payment for "goods" safe? Sorry if this has been asked before.

Be sure to pay with your Credit Card. It won't recognize on ebay that you have paid for the item since the paypal account isn't tied to that ebay account, so if there is a problem with the transaction (ie: if it does not show up) you would have to file the claim directly through paypal rather then ebay. As long as you pay with your credit card you should be fine. You can always file a chargeback with you CC as a last resort.

Is it an item that you should have authenticated before paying?

Thanks for your speed!

Nope it's not a big purchase or anything. I just didn't want a future headache for something so nominal.

You should be fine. It would be no different then purchasing in an off-ebay transaction like when items are purchased here on the forum in the AF Mall for example.
