Ebay won't let be buy-it-now or even ask the seller as to why?!

When I try to buy it now I get this:

Buy It Now
Seller not accepting your bid
Unfortunately, the seller cannot accept your bid on this item. This can happen for a couple of reasons. For example, the seller may be limiting how many items you can buy from him or her in a specific time period. Learn more.

And, if I try to contact the seller as to why...I get this:

We're sorry we couldn't find an answer for you. Unfortunately, this seller is not able to respond to your question. We suggest reviewing the item again to see if your answer is in the seller's listing.

I don't think I've ever even purchased from this seller Any thoughts...I've never had this happen before.

Just a few thoughts.. either it's an ebay glitch or you have fewer than 10 feedback (which I am sure you are not), the seller blocked you, the seller doesn't post to your primary registration address, the seller doesn't accept bids from anyone who had at least one unpaid strike recorded on their account.. what else could it be.. ermm.. can't think of it now.. what about strikes? Have you ever had unpaid item cases on that account? Anyway, do you have another account? try from that one

Nope, my account is in great standing. No strikes, 100% feedback over 550. I don't think I've ever purchased from this seller, but then again I've been a member since '02. So frustrating, I really want this top & have no way to contact the seller Maybe, I'll get my sis to get it...see if it lets her

I think that can also happen if the seller doesn't ship to your country.

If you are blocked for any reason and the seller selects do not receive messages from buyers that are blocked ... then it will not allow you to send messages.

Usually if you are blocked due to unpaid item strikes it tells you this. I have that block set up on my account and the buyers who try bidding contact me stating they are blocked due to too many strikes and would like to be unblocked.

IMO blocking the person completely from asking questions is kind of annoying. Even if a buyer is blocked wouldn't you like to have them contact you to find out why? LOL

Oh wow! Sure enough, I searched my emails for the buyers name. I purchased a top a while back from them and it had holes that weren't mentioned in the auction and the sizing was totally irregular. I sent them an email (perfectly nice) stating the issue and that I'd like to send it back.

I guess they blocked me because of this

My guess is that would be the reason.

It's just kind of a shame. We were both professional & I thought their customer service was great. I would be happy to give them my business again. I have excellent feedback and in no way a 'problem buyer'.

They just sent me a top with defects not mentioned...it happens Oh well.

Not sure why they would block you for that. If it is clearly their fault they should suck it up and issue a refund. Happens to us occasionally and we end up issuing a full refund + paying for the return shipping cost. We wouldn't block the buyers due to our error. Refunding is the right thing to do.

This happened to me once...I didn't realize I had been blocked either. I asked a question about an item, can't even remember what it was. Seller apparently didn't like the question, so when I went to bid on the item I got the message you got! WTH?!

I *think* I asked if the item was authentic...I got "yes" and then I'm blocked! Ah yes, they were Ugg boots.
