Delayed USPS tracking info?

I sold a Balenciaga bag on eBay on 10/25. Buyer BIN'd and paid right away. There were some emails back and forth and I shipped it out the next day (10/26) priority with insurance. I check the tracking a few days later and see this:

Your Label Number:
9105150134711983035310

Your Item Status:
We attempted to deliver your item at 11:51 am on October 28, 2011 in FORT LAUDERDALE, FL 33331 and a notice was left. You may arrange redelivery by visiting www.usps.com/redelivery or calling 800-ASK-USPS, or may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice. If this item is unclaimed after 15 days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

-Acceptance, October 26, 2011, 12:17 pm, SOUTHBOROUGH, MA 01772
-Electronic Shipping Info Received, October 25, 2011

I contact the buyer and explain that they need to sign for the package or get it from the post office. They message me back not to worry that they already received the bag and the person loved it. But there have been no further updates with tracking. I'm going to call the PO tomorrow but has this ever happened to someone where the tracking isn't updated but the item was delivered. I'm worried they have the bag and will just say they never received it. If it gets sent back to me, that's fine. I just don't want to be out the money AND the bag.

Thanks.

Also I haven't received feedback which makes me suspicious.

I have had this happen before. It never gets updated even though the buyer has received it. Hopefully she doesn't try to pull anything.

Just curious, did you put Signature Confirmation on it? I am assuming that it was over $250. And just a reminder to everyone out there, Paypal requires that signature confirmation is put on everything over $250. Even if it showed delivered but was not signed for, the buyer could file a claim and win.

Good question about the signature. I usually do but forgot this time. Luckily my postal worker reminded me. I thought you always had to sign for a package that was insured?

I definitely will. It was through eBay messaging.

No not always. But even then, purchasing signature confirmation is still different then if the post office has you sign for something on their own if that makes sense?
