Would you just re-list?

Nowadays I automatically file NPB after 4 days just to cover myself. 98% of people pay, but lately I have had about 4 NPB in the last month, not terrible and usually members with very little feedback.

So, I sold an item, NPB opened and I finally hear from buyer at 1am tuesday morning. NPB scheduled to close that day at noon. Says she has been in the hospital and had a friend of hers pay a couple of her auctions and said friend swears the payment posted in paypal, and whatever the case will have this resolved by tomorrow (tuesday) I search thoroughly to no avail. No payment. I email her right away 7:30 tuesday morning and let her know payment did not post. I was real nice and wished her well considering. I still have not heard back from her and I am able to close the case. Should I wait one more day or just be over it? It is so hard to believe people sometimes and I wonder if she is just buying more time. I just recently had another buyer purchase a BIN or BO so she had time to think about this and it is not like she was at the auction end and place a bid hurriedly. She has not paid and it had been 6 days or so, I simply emailed and flat out asked her if she even wanted to item anymore as I had a feeling (she had 2 feedback and none current). She actually emailed and said her hours had been cut drastically and does not think she can afford it now. WOW!!! at least she emailed back so I could re-list before the NPB closed as this is the 2nd re-list on this item. First buyer thought the item was Blue not black...ugghhh... Luckily it did not get sent out yet.

I would just go ahead and relist at this point. I just operate under the assumption that every story is false because I've heard it all.

OMG..so at 1:15 she pays with an ECHECK! Arrggh... so do not have patience for this. Had emailed her this am (before my post) basically saying I guess you are over this transaction since I've not heard from you and that I will be relisting. I did not get a chance to read your replies until now, and of course she sends payment. BUT..honestly I do not even want to bother with her now so I canceled and re-listed. Maybe that is wrong but I just get fed up with buyers and their excuses sometimes. Thanks for your input!

Were you able to close the case as a NPB or did you just cancel the e check and relist?

I ask because if it wasn't closed as a NPB she can still leave neg feedback.

I was able to close as NPB, which I did first as technically payment has not posted ;-) Then I canceled the payment. So done with that nonsense. I did go back to sold items and tried to leave feedback to be sure it was not possible, and it's not. I had closed an npb on an echeck before and feedback was not possible, but I get nervous anyway. Glad that is done with.
