ebay question

hello, i was wondering if someone can give me an opinion on this, as im wondering if the runner up was shill bidding? it is not clothing though.
they retracted a bid, that outbid me, and then re bid to my maximum 30 seconds later...
is that suspicious?

More than half of that buyer's bid history is with that one seller. I would say it's a possibility. I am very hesitant to make unfounded accusations, though.

mega suspicious and could pretty much guarantee you got shilled. there is no other logical reason to bid exactly your max. a legit bidder who just changed their mind and didn't want the item anymore would just retract and move on

^^ Yeah.. that's what I thought.. (under KirstenMary)

But wait, can you retract your bid when it is less than 12hours left until the auction end? I think on ebay.co.uk you cannot do it..or couldn't do it, sorry if I'm mistaken.

It does say though, if you entered a wrong amount, re-enter the correct amount immediately. I tried it 2 in the past - never worked for me!

would it be worth contacting ebay or the seller over? or are there any steps i should take?
i only noticed this because i recieved an outbid notice the morning after in my email.
the person retracted there bid of 150. and the bid 110, seems that there would be some difficulty in entering the wrong amount.

i really appreciate the input, thank you.

Agree, if they actually wanted to win the item they would have bid just over your max instead of under it. Makes no sense what so ever.

You should contact ebay. I would wait to pay for the item until you hear back from them.
