Changed Paypal email but buyer's payment was sent to the old one

Hello everyone,

Looking to get some insight on this. I recently changed my paypal email address, set it to primary and confirmed it. I also updated ebay with my new email address as well.

Yesterday, a buyer sent me payment for an item. The transaction still says it's being processed by paypal when I checked ebay today.

When I logged into my new paypal email account, I noticed that I did not receive a notification of payment from the buyer. So I went and checked my old email and turns out the payment notification was sent there I am so confused as to why this could be. Is it because at the time of the transaction when the item was sold, my paypal email wasn't changed yet? Now I'm worried that other payments will go directly to my old one instead (the old email account domain will no longer be supported by my email provider by the 31st).

was this on ebay?
maybe you didn't change where the payment is supposed to be sent (paypal addy) in your listing.

Yes, it was on ebay. Hmmm...ok I will have to go and change that too then for my listings b/c I didn't realize I had to change it there as well. Thanks!!!

Ok, so I changed my current listings to my new paypal email. However, since the buyer made payment to my old email account, am I screwed now to getting the money? It still says 'payment has been initialized' and is being processed by paypal' when I check on Ebay.

Also, another weird thing I noticed is that the notification email that was sent to my old email said: 'Simply click the link below and complete PayPal's one-page registration form to claim your money' followed by a link below. I have not clicked on it yet as I'm a bit paranoid--I have never seen that before from a paypal email

Nevermind, I figured it out. I had to re-add the old email, and re-confirm it and then the money transferred over. Phew!
