| | | AF Movie Review I love our Book Review section, is it a dumb idea to have Movie Review, too? I never get to go to the movies (we have one 2 screen theatre in our town but it's really dirty) so I am always wondering what to get next on my Netflix! |

| | | i think that's a good idea. i don't ever go to the movies here because i don't deal well with crowds. I'm a renter too. Movie Review would be helpful.

| | | If the Mods think this is OK, might we add it to the menu like the book review so we can start posting?

| | | I haven't seen 300, but I saw Stranger than Fiction in the theaters ~ Loved it!
Also, I've been on a Hitchcock bend lately; we rented Lifeboat most recently...it was my least favorite of all the Hitchcock films I've seen thus far.

| | I loved Stranger Than Fiction.
I just watched The Prestige last night, didn't love it, just a little too disturbing.
I watched A Good Year a few days ago, cute movie, BEAUTIFUL setting in France! I recommend it |

I'd like to know if anyone has seen 300..... | I was gonna watch 300 last night, but the tickets were completely sold out.
Instead I watched zodiac, though Jake is cute (as always), I've gotta say that that movie was COMPLETELY TOO LONG.. they dragged it out. And he was only really in 1/2 of it. I think you would only like if you're into documentaries.

| | ugh i felt dumber after watching borat! i didn't even make it through half the movie; i got on AF instead! lol
i loved the prestige. takes some paying attention, though! i recommend it!
and stranger than fiction was pretty good... the ending kinda leaves you wanting something, though i wouldn't want it to end any other way.
and i watched click as well. that was cute. a chick flick, for sure, though i'm positive guys will relate, lol!!

| | i haven't watched prestige nor borat
click was very funny, i love adam sandler movies, especially 50 first dates
also, i saw 300 over the weekend, and it was sooo good. i don't really like movies with bloody scenes (ie gladiator, saving private ryan...) BUT this was way different, it was kinda cartoony in a way. probably bc of the director (quentine tarantino? sp?)
overall REALLLY MUST SEE in my opinion

| | | I watched 300 and thought it was good. It wasn't super good, but good. If you like movies with a lot of action like every other scene then you might like it. A lot of blood and stuff getting chopped off too

| | For those of you who have seen 300, my 11-year old (almost 12) son wants to see it. Here in Canada it's rated 18A...not restricted, but under 18 requires an 18-year old chaperone. He's pretty mature and we've let him see 14A movies (including Borat....I can't believe that movie was only rated 14A ). If Borat was only 14A, I can't imagine how bad 300 must be.
...sorry....my question. How bad is it? Is it just extraordinarily violent? Is this what makes it 18A? Would you let your 11 (almost 12) year old son see it?
TIA!

TIA! | Well....not only is 300 violent w/ limbs and heads flying everywhere, but there are a lot of scenes with boobies...don't know if thats appropriate for a 12 year old

TIA! | the whole movie is basically gore and fighting and slicing and bloody
and the parts that aren't have boobies, sex and disturbing orgies with humpbacks
DEFINITELY not a 12 year old kinda movie
HOWEVER, i found that it was TOTALLY AWESOME
300 = 300 HOT SEXY SWEATY HALF NAKED MEN
that makes it a good movie in my books
i think i should clarify that i not only liked it for the men
haha, i also thought that it was a very good movie in general.. i'm a history minor and i found this very interesting
