No, AF will be adding mods as we continue to expand. I have taken several requests that are pending at the moment. Let me know if you’re interested in becoming an AF moderator.

Chris, have you laid out any sort of ground rules for the mods you will select?

I am so not capable of being a mod, but did perhaps wanted to suggest that when you choose, it would really be cool to let the general consensus maybe be able to vote?
BTW, the only reason I ask this , is because there are some really AWSOME MODS who know there stuff, and I just really think their knowledge upholds itself.

*please no tomato throwing*

Ben is the only one permitted to throw "tomatos". Ha ha. (For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, Ben is known for calling hot chicks tomatos)

He signed up, but that was when the first post about this forum was made on HF and he was confused and thought this WAS the next generation of HF. I don't think he's been here since. But he's been officially de-modded. Who knows what the future holds...

I have good faith on who the AF community will elect as future moderators. The community chosen mods will be allowed to exercise nearly all VB mod options. I will discuss these options in more detail as the mod process draws closer. For the record, I thought all HF mods did a superb job and the main reason for it's success.

What would be your thoughts on having one or two super mods that could exercise total control?

IMO,
I think once all MODS are chosen, then THEY should decide who should be supermod...ect...
since they would be upholding their sections.
But basically ALL mods should be treated equally.
Simple but Fair.

I second that. I want the whole AF community to be built & represented by everyone. I will not allow myself & a few others to make or determine all decisions.

If by exercising total control you mean patrolling the whole area, then I agree. But I will say that all mods, no matter whether Mod, Supermod, or Admin, should be able to participate in all discussions about the board and its future. If you are going to have a team, please remeber that every member of that team should serve a great purpose and each and every voice and opinion is probably one that has been made with much consideration (to the board and its members).

I'm sure you know all this, but in light of recent events, I will simply state: DO NOT LET THIS BECOME A DICTATORSHIP

Excuse the caps, I am prone to them

Seconding what Shake has said. also, I think it is very important that even though you wish for members to elect mods, to make sure that the mods chosen are chosen based upon their knowledge, integrity, responsibility, time, and ability. Not a popularity contest. I want a competent mod, not a likeable one.

Agreed! Please don't let it become a popularity contest!

I definitely agree with that Keri.

BTW - can I use profanity here?

I'm not sure.... I have used some, but nothing incredibly obscene, I think as long as the sexual profanity is kept to a minimum and not used for name calling, it should be acceptable.
