| | | Too much clutter... Hi there,
Just a suggestion; I noticed that alot of the items for sale that are listed are mostly all sold. Could you possibly MOVE them into another section naming it something like " SOLD ITEMS" or just delete them? It's a little irritating to seeing something nice, then scrolling down to find out that it has been sold.
Just might be easier & a little more pleasant to browsing around. |

| | Items that have been sold usually have SOLD edited into the title, and a yellow 'thumbs up' icon at post edge indicating such. This way, there is no reason to go into the thread at all, these are very visible notices that item is no longer available.
If people refrain from continuing convo and further comments in SOLD threads, these will naturally drop down and off the page. We try to avoid deleting threads unless absolutely necessary.

| | | I like her suggestion to have another forum, because then people can see what past items sold for, as well as knowing that all the things they see are actually for sale.

| | | Deleting would definitely be a bad idea, especially if there are disputes. No one could go back and see if something was clearly pictured or if it had been mentioned and they just missed it.
The moving is time consuming and makes it difficult to find a thread. Lets say you just bought X. So you go back to check out thread for X. It's not in it's forum. I know you say, well I just go to the sold forum and look for X, but we try to make this site really easy to use for people that have never used this type of thing before, and those people would be a little lost.
SOLD in the title is pretty clear to me. Both people new to forums, and forum veterans know what the word sold means, and it's somthing that is a little easier on our mall mods who have a LOT of work to do.

Thank you for the respones. Well, as an active member on another forum, they have something called " The Grave Yard" for transactions taht have been closed & done with. Its just a little easier knowing that what I'm looking at is still for sale and not skip around trying to find something is is still for sale. You don't necessarily have to delete them, just move them when its done with. |

| | | I honestly think that if we put "SOLD" in the title and the thumbs up symbol, there shouldnt be too much comfusion and clutter. Like Joan said, sold items will gradually fall to the bottom and making an entire sub-forum for sold items would be a very large undertaking |

| | | Yeah, our mods are already going to have their hands full with the new mall moderation system we have. It's really up to the users to help with keeping the mall clean, by posting SOLD when their item(s) are gone. Then someone can easily come by and add the thumbs up so things are clear |

| | It might also be helpful to put "SOLD" at the beginning of the thread title rather than at the end. Sometimes I get excited and then I get thoroughly crushed by the end of the line. Alright, slight exaggeration, but you get the picture. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
