Is it safe to ship to China?

I recently had a potential ebay buyer email me about shipping a pair of jeans to China. Is this safe? And if so, I assume international express is the best way to go (as usual)? Thanks in advance!

Are the jeans new or used? Used clothing is prohibited. I don't ship to China.

They are NWT. Why don't you ship to China? I'm just wondering if it's risky like (shipping to Italy) in terms of the tracking being poor (or nonexistant) or it being seized by customs.

At least for Italy, I think Express has their own people running it so that the customs people are a lot less likely to seize them...I sent a NWT pair there no problem. (I think they also have the ban on used clothing being sent there)

I have shipped to plenty of places i'd consider sketchier with no issues. I'd ship there if it were me, but i can't tell you what to do. Shipping with Express fully insured will protect you, barring outright fraud (stolen cc, etc). If the buyer's feedback looks ok and they have some sort of decent ebay history I wouldn't think twice probably

I've sent NWT jeans to China with no problems. However, I was always concerned that it was a faker buying them, so it kind of bugs me.

China has an emerging bourgeoise class and they have been snapping up luxury brands like crazy for the past while.
Stereotypes may exist for a reason, but times they are a'changin...and there is an appetite for real luxury in China. Don't know how the recent economic turmoil has changed their fortunes.

I would insure it and have tracking with it.

Shana is right about the emergence of China in terms of development, but there's still a large underprivileged class there just as there is here. When I lived in the Philippines, while the mail would be going in the city (Metro-Manila) where there are well off people, there's a risk of your mail getting stolen especially if it came from a Western country. That why my relatives from Canada then, and my family now, never sends by post there. But then again, I've been able to mail to them and vice versa no problem. I would just take extra precaution.
