| | | I just noticed a little thing that might help people...
The flower type things on the crown (the ones on either side of the DVB logo) on my white Madrids are almost 3D like and a little raised! If you run your finger over this bit, you can feel it, compared to fakes I've seen which are totally flat and crappy lol. Am I right, anybody else notice this? |

| | Hey! ASOS.com has a really, really good zoom-in of red crowns here.
On real crowns, the "flowers" are three-dimensional and peak up slightly.
EDIT: Oops, someone beat me to it. ;-)

| | | Victoria Beckham London,Gold Grown Hello
Can anyone tell me what colour washes these jeans come in? what colour the rivets and fasteners should be.
Should there be whiskering/fading from the bum to mid thigh? Not sure of of the exact terminology for this but the colour detailing where the wash is lighter then the rest of the jeans.
Thanks

| | | every pair is different the questions you're asking are too specific to determine authenticity you look at the jeans as a whole and not such small parts |

| | | Hey everyone,
I just found this site and I'm so glad I did! everyone's comments have been so helpful. Unfortunately I'll have to apply this new found knowledge NEXT time I buy a pair of rock and republics... yes thats right, I was duped. I took my jeans (Victoria Beckham with blue crowns) in to compare them to the real ones in a retail store (boy that was embarrassing!) But they were actually quite helpful.
A few things they pointed out were:
1) the hem. Authentic hems are only about a 1/4 of an inch thick. A lot of fakes I've seen so far have a 1/2 inch or more hem.
2) the tags inside. Authentic R&R have cloth tags and often have a small "authentic" tag. They have a square tag with the waist size in red and they have the "dry clean only" written directly on the inside tag. They also pointed out that the tag should be cloth, not plastic.
3) the crown. The most noticeable feature that I can see is the flower to either side of the "dvb". Authentic flowers appear to be full and puffy not thin with defined lines for petals. Also, if there are crystals, they should be placed perfectly in the right spots. I would question them even if one crystal is out of place or missing.
Now that I've looked closer, there are many signs that prove they are fake. These may be specific to the fake jean used though and may not be helpful.
Haha... the tag on the inside even says "turn inside out when washing and then Tumble Dry on low heat". Needless to say, I will always ask for full clarification of the little details from here on in!
Anyways, I am new to this forum thing. Hopefully I posted this in the right place. I also hope that, even though I don't know much, it was helpful cause I really want to be a part of the solution here. Its a crappy feeling being cheated!
Good luck with the ongoing search everyone. |

just to elaborate. The picture I attached is of the crown on the jeans I purchased. Hopefully this helps clarify what I mean about the petals and also the crystals. |

Don't blindly trust what salespeople in stores tell you. Most of them know NOTHING about authenticating |

Oh man, you don't even have to get that detailed to see those are fake Everything is wrong. Sorry you ended up with those. Man, they've got stitching on the lower right there that's not even in the crown |

| | | Hmmm... I mean like is the stitching not flat. On my other crowns (no crystals) the stiching is raised somewhat (like its layered). My newest crystals arent' like that; they're flat. Does this make sense? lol |

| | Here is a pic of the crowns. You can't really see how flat the stitching is, but it is completely flat. Anyone else find this?? |
