| | | What is the best way to shrink? I need to shrink a couple pair and I was wondering what is the best way. Which methods have y'all been successful with. Thanks |

| | Try idalis' way of doing it.
"You need to fill your sink or bathtub with the hottest water it will get (too hot to touch comfortably). Soak the jeans for 5 minutes. Take them out and wring lightly/drip out just so they aren't dripping all over. Throw in the dryer on high until bone dry. And yes, the inseam WILL shrink too" http://honestforum.com/viewtopic.php...ight=shrinking
good luck! |

| | | Ok i just tried it. We will see how it works. It is ok about the inseam. Both of the pairs I am shrinking have a 36 inch inseam so if it shrinks a little I will not be upset. I am shrinking my madrid crowns. I think they will be even better after this. They fit good before hopefully they will be perfect now. |

| | I shrunk my scorpions about an inch all over using idalis's method- I had to do it twice. But they fit more like a 25 now |

| | | ^Quoting idalis once more lol:
"The stretch ones will come back out a bit, but will go back down after a normal washing, just like a pair that has never been shrunk will. The rigid ones will not stretch out usually (or will, but ever so slightly)." |

| | | Oh, my bad. Thanks Tonepone.
I've never tried to shrink R&R's, but some said they don't shrink
as much as other brands. Does anyone agree? I need to shrink
my new david lees in vapor... Maybe I'll just bring them to a tailor
and have thighs and knees taken in. |

| | | I shrunk my crystal crowns in vapor. I even had them in the dryer on hot. They shrunk enough for me to fit them better. They're a 24, but they fit much looser than my silver crowns. When I've wore them for a while they stretch out some, though. If it doesn't work with the shrinking method, I'd bring them to a tailor, too. They'd be custom made, then
Btw, how did the shrinking work out, kelliks? |

| | | It worked a little but not that much. It shrinks the waist definitely but i was trying to shrink the thighs and that doesnt change that much. I will probably have to tailor as well Pi. I was going to sell my vapors but now I want to keep them and see if tailoring will help. I love them too much to let them go. |

so it is possible to shrink R&R w/ crystals w/o having the crystals fall off? |

| | | I just throw mine in the washer under hot water and dry 'em for like 80min on high.
It's worked well for alot of my jeans! Waist shrinks roughly .5" and inseam 1" or so. |

| | | Depends on the jeans too. If its got elasterell-p... shrinking doesn't work. I had to have my jagger radions taken in.
Elasterell-p is a NON shrinkable polymer as claimed by the manufacturers. |

| | | Yeah, kelliks. The thigh and knee were my problem too. I took them to my
tailor today anyway because I needed to shrink them at least an inch,
that seemed impossible.
I also asked my tailor to have the waist taken in a bit. That's gonna be
freakin $65! |

I've used the dryer every time, I have to or they won't fit I guess it's not the best way to maintain my jeans in shape, but without the dryer I might as well sell and that's NOT an option |

so I changed my tailor recently. But my new tailor said she couldn't
make the waist smaller, and I don't fully trust her skill yet. I mean, she
does good job with hemming with original, but I haven't asked her
anything else so not sure, you know? Also, she only has one sewing
machine and simply cannot do some kind of alterations...
I knew my old tailor could do almost anything very well, so I decided
to take them to my old tailor. |

| | I wouldn't experiment with my newest jeans either. At least now you know you'll be happy once they're done. Smart idea to alter another jean that you don't care that much of to test the new tailor |
