R&R quality at Kohl's

Reposting this since it was in the wrong section and I can't delete that thread. So I've been out of the loops on denims for the past couple years and haven't been on this forum for a while. 2nd time ever I've been to Kohl's to look for some travel luggage on sale, and to my surprise, I saw some Rocks here. I was sure they had to be fake since I wouldn't think a "generic" store would sell premium denims. After closely looking, they seem to be real.

After a bunch of sales and coupons, it was $45 + tax. I bought a pair with very mixed feelings. I got a good "deal", but if these are truly real, that also means the end of R&R as a premium brand. I was half hoping for them to be fake.

Anyways, I got home, looked this up, and apparently the news that Kohls is the sole distributor for R&R has been out for 2 years.

Here are some pics. It doesn't feel the same as my non-Kohl's pairs, but I'm not completely disgusted in how they look for feel. Return or keep?

For comparison, Left pair is from Nordstrom many years ago, right pair the one in question from Kohl's

I also bought a shirt there from the sale. It was $30 so I was going to buy it anyways regardless of brand.

I'm in the same boat. I have like 5 pairs of RR's I've been wearing for the last few years and one day i was in khols and saw they had them there for like half the price i paid for mine. I tried a few pairs on and they definitely did not feel to be the same level of quality. I've also noticed that they normally are not button fly and do not come in the normal 35 inch inseam like the originals did, only more off the rack sizes like 28-32.

After that i came home and looked it up. It looks like RR went bankrupt a while back and sold the brand to khols so that they could make their own knock off version.

Ever since then I've been buying every pair of originals on ebay in my size because i still cant find another brand that i like.

I too am an old R&R fan

jgz you could be my conscience. I was way into premium denim back in 2007-2010, but have since fallen out. I owned many a pair of fancy fancy R&R's and some Diesel and 7's.

Last winter I was at Kohls for some button downs and sweaters and I ran into the R&R denim as you both mentioned, and it threw me off hardcore. I also found the exact R&R shirt that is in this thread. I really like it, though I washed and dried one and it seemed to shrivel up in odd places. I've been more careful with the replacement.

What do the old denims even go for nowadays? The R&R section on AF is notably dead.
