HATE IT!

have to share so others don't go through this crap. I haven't used the stuff for years and here's why:

I never really had bad skin problems. I got a blemish every once in while when I was in high school. My sister purchased Proactiv and she did have a bit of acne and it cleared up after a couple weeks...being impressed by her results, I decided to get some of my own to try it out. For a while it was working really well for me. I didn't have any blemishes for several months, and then the bad thing happened. All of a sudden I had MAJOR acne issues all over my cheeks, forehead, and nose. It was HORRIBLE. I immediately quit using the proactiv and went to see a dermatologist.

She said that proactiv is super harsh on the skin and that i needed to get rid of it. I was then put on antibiotics and 2 cream/gel things (benzaclin and differin) to relieve the acne. My skin cleared up beautifully with the treatments. I couldn't afford to continue with the meds for long (had to start paying for them on my own w/o parental help and was a bit to spendy for me) anyway....still have issues every once in a while but....


I HATE PROACTIVE. I simply can not say it enough.

my cousin used Proactiv for like 5 years and it really worked for her.
She had alot of allergies so she would break out alot and she had lots of pimples but after using proactiv her face became soooo clean and no visible pores either!

I never tried Proactiv myself but after reviews on various people, proactiv doesn't seem to work for everyone...
I'm afraid my skin might get "addicted" to proactiv and once i stop using it I'll start breaking out even more.

I only get pimples on my t-zone so I only use the proactiv there, and I haven't had any issues. But my skin is SUPER sensitive to the sun now. I hope I don't develop any issues like you did. Thanks for the heads up!

It is truly a scam.. Wish they could be stopped..
