Kinerase C-peptide, cleanser, cream, eye cream

5 stars to ALL OF THIS!! Courtnenay Cox isn't gorgeous for nothing! She is the spokesperson for this brand and one of the reasons I tried it.

After 2 years, I have NO crows feet and the wrinkle lines on my lips are almost non-existent! I use the ENTIRE line daily and swear by it!

If you are interested in trying it, buy the travel kit and try it out. You will not be disappointed! Its expensive, but well worth it. It has saved me a ton of potential plastic surgery dollars!!

How long did you use it before you saw results?

Sadly the c -peptide uses an ineffective form of c. That makes it an ineffective anti-oxidant serum. One of the c serums backed up by impressive research (SkinMedica or Skinceuticals) instead would work in fighting free radicals and boosting sunscreen. The rest of the stuff just moisturizes. In the long run it won't prevent aging. While using it it temporarily plumps up the skin.

Girls, you know I'm a party pooper. Just ignore my posts if I get on your nerves!

The C-Peptide isn't a moisturizer so it doesn't moisturize at all. Its an anti-aging treatment. My skin isn't "plumped"--the aging issues I had before using this entire routine have been completely reversed. I have been out of some of the stuff for a couple of weeks and my skin is suffering. Perhaps its just me.

JMHO.

I know, girl. It just isn't effective. It's like an aspirin tablet that just doesn't have the acetyl salicylic acid.
But hey, that doesn't matter if you like it so much. Just imagine what a really effective c could do for you!

Did you mention you have tried this product itself?

I wouldn't try that one, girl. The form of c is proven to be not effective (wrong form of c, wrong pH). I stick to proven effective ones. I've tried a lot of Kinerase products, that was before I learned about active ingredients, what makes them effective etc.
Trying a product that is effective as a preventative mostly, like a c serum, wouldn't help you determine whether it's effective anyway, if you don't do split face tests over say 20 years. That's why it's so important to learn what makes it work or makes it ineffective.
By the way, if out of some reason you want to use peptides, try Olay Regenerist serum, it has a higher % and is very effective. I'd suspect the peptides to work for lawgal (as the c cannot), and then it would make sense to use a better peptide product, and a great c product to get max results.
I totally forgot that Kinerase serum that lawgal uses has peptides- if not retinoids, then peptides for sure. Just make sure you don't use copper peptides and c - the combination turns pro- oxidant.

I think its better for this section when product reviews are placed, that only people that have actually TRIED and sampled the product itself, REVIEW it and comment.

It will probably work out much better this way, so we don't have reviews based on just other opinion-comments, rumors, hearsay etc.
A 'Personally Reviewed' Comment and opinion is what I think this section is about.

No problem.
By the way, I base my info on scientific research, not rumors. We should exclude sunscreens from reviews then, in case someone reviews an unstable one, and people use it based on the review. That would do harm, could even result in skin cancer.
I'll refrain from posting here from now on. I know people don't want to hear stuff like that. It's getting on their nerves.

No, its not that at all.

It seems though that when reviewing a product here, we are looking for what people who have tried it think about it, and its effectiveness.

Of course when people want to try something, they like to hear its effect on real people not necessarily what 'studies show' etc.

Lots of those 'studies' are used to twist into a sales pitch as well
with claims of " medically proven" and " studies show.." to enhance sales and so forth.

Its always good to check actual scientific research and not just the 'claims' of researchers etc.

Yet when reviewing the H&B products I think we are trying here to just know what other AF members experiences have been with said product under review.

No need to avoid anything, but lets try to just review what we actually have tried out in person
IN THIS SECTION...

the discussion areas are TOTALLY different.
IN MY OPINION

Joan, I rely on pubmed studies. Those are not twisted in any way, and I have the background to read them properly.

Good Grief. Maybe we need a separate section for PUBLISHED REVIEWS. Product Reviews are just that--product reviews. I think most of us like Jenn's research, but may be in a separate section. These reviews should be based on PERSONAL USE EXPERIENCE.

It pisses me off when I see a post made on non-personal experience. I could really give a rats ass what some MAN (more than likely) who may have tested the product says after a random test. I have seen tests on these products that say the exact opposite! IMO, the proof is in the photos! All skin is different and all people are different. What works for me may not work for someone else and vice versa.

Not only do I like what I use, but I can credit the way my skin looks at NEARLY 40 to my use of Noxema, Sea Breeze and Oil of Olay (my Nana's) from about age 12 to 25. I started the Kinerase about 2 years ago and have never looked back.

The only problem I have with it is the price! Its $135 for the Cream, $95 for the C-Peptide, $85 for the eye cream. The only cheap thing is the cleanser at $35. The sizes are big and most will last 6 months!

Girls, I won't post in this section anymore. But we need to agree on not reviewing s/s here if people are not sure whether they're stable.
Lawgal, you can thank your genes for your nice skin. I would love to have you try some of the big guns one day though.

Gah- one last word from me. All skin is the same in its basic functions, and in collagen production etc- and how that production can be increased and aging/ photodamage prevented. Everything else is YMMV and as you said may work or not.

LOL, when I really need to do something for wrinkles, I am not afraid of Botox or a good old fashioned face lift! We will all be old and wrinkled one day, regarless of how much money we spend on our skin.
