Mederma scar gel

My tattooist recommended this to me because I have a tattoo which I got lightened to make room for future work, and there was a little bit of scarring. I don't have photographic evidence at this point but if I think of it, I'll try to take some photos. I've been putting this gel on my tattoo and also on some scars from old piercings (my nostrils and right below my lip)...it's been about 2 weeks now. I apply it twice a day, three times if I think of it. It seems to be working already on the scars under my lip...they don't feel as bumpy and they don't seem quite as obvious as they were. This stuff is kinda expensive but from my brief experience so far, actually helps reduce scar tissue. It goes on clear and doesn't feel sticky or gross. I have sensitive skin and it hasn't caused me any issues like breakouts or anything. So...thus far, two thumbs up!

Thanks for sharing! I have several scars from having bad moles removed and have been thinking about giving it a try...especially for the one right above my cleavage :

I'll have to pick some up this week Thanks again

I used mederma for my stretch marks.
it left a stitcky residue, and after about as week of using it, my skin was peeling. There was also itchiness
I unfortunately can't say if it actually works (on stretch marks) because I only used it for about 3 weeks.

my friend had a surfing accident that resulted in a few stitches right in between her eyes (she's lucky shes not blind). she used the spf version 5x a day as per tube instructions and the scar isnt noticeable now.

Oh, they have an SPF version? Good to know.

I wonder why your skin peeled, maybe it was an allergic reaction? I have noticed that if I put it over a larger area where there ISN'T a scar (this is what happens when you think you're putting on arnica gel and then you realize you grabbed the wrong tube, haha), my skin itches a little.
