Holy kicking baby!

So this little girl is getting strong. The kicks are starting to get uncomfortable. They don't hurt but are uncomfortable. The doctor commented on how forceful her movement was when she put the fetal doppler on my belly and there was a huge thud cuz she kicked it. Last night I was trying to go to sleep and she thought it was party time... How much worse is it going to get? Am I screwed?

Yes, you're screwed.

They get more and more powerful, then they start to roll around when there's not as much room; suddenly you can see their butt moving across the front of your belly...very uncomfortable, but a great sign of a healthy baby!

yikes..you got a 'mover' ..it's kind of freaky, isn't it?
ricky was like that..very very active.
i felt like there was an alien in there trying to get out.

he would also take his fingers and 'strum'.
eeek! talk about GROSS!
i used to count all 4 fingers (not counting thumb here guys) as they would make the strumming motion.
oddly enough..he's a guitar player.

She does that too. I have almost peed my pants a few times

I have the shortest torso on earth and she is already filling it up! I measured right at 24 weeks at the doc last friday... I am going to look freakish very soon, I'm afraid!

Bladder kicks, cervix kicks, and yes, rear-end kicks...fun fun for everyone...except for the mom-to-be who has to run to the bathroom!

My third was the most active in the womb, and still is now.

On of the many miracles of being preggo--let me mention I HATED being pregnant! I am short torso'd as well and I was pure belly from right under my boobs to my pubic bone. Not much room there!

Babies tend to be less active during the day because your movement "rocks" them to sleep. They wake up as soon as you lay down to go to bed.

My son is 100% on the go. I believe that the way they are inside is the way they are outside. He skipped walking and just sprints. And I did pee my pants a few times

As the baby has gotten bigger, I swear it feels like the movie Aliens where she is stretching my belly in different directions. It's such a strange feeling. I remember watching my belly jiggle as she was moving during my 3 hour glucose screen. Drinking 100mg of glucose and sitting on your butt for 3 hours was a good way of getting her going.

And that reminds me that I have to do the 1 hour test in a few weeks... They are also doing an ultrasound to make sure my placenta has moved away from my cervix. It was a little close at my 20 week u/s

I had placenta previa w/ my last child. They said it was going to be a c-section until I went on a motorcycle ride at 7 1/2 months along. It shook the placenta right out of the way & I was fine!

She said mine was a half centimeter to close and that it would most likely move but they wanted to check. I hope it has moved to the right place and not the wrong way!

The one hour test wasn't so bad. I didn't think the drink was too gross. The 3 hour test drink was nasty though. Good luck with yours and the u/s as well. I might suggest carbo loading and indulging in a little more sugar a few days before the test. I have been avoiding sugar and I am pretty sure that is why I failed the one hour. I passed the 3 hour screen though. I have one more u/s in 4 weeks as well as the Group B strep screen and I should be done and waiting to deliver.

They told me the opposite, that I need to stay away from sugar and carbs or I may get a false positive.

I'm sure you'll be fine. They said i had clear until I was 9 months pregnant to make sure. It did move at 7 1/2 months though.

Man, I had to do the 3 hr sugar test too. That was not fun. I was fine there too though.

Just wait! Soon you will be seeing body parts when she is kicking! I noticed it the most late at night when I was trying to go to bed. Now that he is two weeks old, he is still most active late at night! I miss not feeling my little one in my belly.

Well that's what I did and I flunked albeit just barely. We should wait for Shireen to weigh in. I did have more than usual sugar and carbs in the couple of days before the 3 hour and did fine.

Okay I did a google search. I guess you are supposed to carb up before the 3 hour test. You don't have to anything before the 1 hour.

Eat normally for the one-hour test; it is the three-hour test that you "carb-up" for.

If you're having the one-hour in the morning, I suggest a carb and protein balanced breakfast at least two hours before the test.

Kicking is so bizarre! My daughter would give me a few good ones. But the worst was the hiccups. She had the strongest hiccups after EVERYTHING i ingested whether it was water or food! That's what would keep me up... And... she's 3 now and since birth gets the hiccups quite often...
