Complain, complain, complain...

These complaints are all in good fun; I don't want anyone thinking I/we are ungrateful for being pregnant...but it's OK to also realize that pregnancy is not a like run in the field of strawberries either.

Aside from having insomnia and getting an average of 3-4 hours of sleep per night, I forgot how much earlier you feel everything each pregnancy. For instance, for those who have a child already and are in the second trimester....

Have you started feeling the dreaded braxton-hicks contractions yet? I feel them so much earlier this time. Annoying as heck, and I get sooo many!! I drink enough water to flood a river, but I still get them; I did with every pregnancy...they suck. Oh, and when I tell DH how annoying they are, he says, "you've had them every time, you should be used to them by now." Yeah, have his innards tighten up once a DAY and he'd want a cure, let alone several times a day. No, they don't hurt, but they are there, and that's enough for me.

I also feel the pubic bone pain bladder discomforts, etc. so much earlier.

I think my uterus is pissed.

Oh Shir,

I feel for ya. My wife had them all the time. We took many trips to the hospital with both our children and were sent back home without baby.

If something is painful, it is painful. There is no getting used to it! Some men deserve

These pregnancy threads make me consider adoption more and more!

^ Yeah, they're not painful (they shouldn't be at 22 weeks), but they are there. It's like flexing a muscle slowly then relax it. They actually help the placenta give oxygen/nutrients to the baby, plus it "trains" the uterus for labor. They are completely normal, but irritating.

My uterus has had plenty of training, thankyouverymuch. Since it's weaker after many pregnancies, it contracts more. Yay.

John, your poor wife had them too, huh?

I always thought my braxton hicks contractions were stronger in my second pregnancy but honestly everything seemed magnified. Then after I had my baby and the post-partem contractions started my midwife lovingly told me that the strength of the contractions get worse with each pregnancy I was not ready for that! Maybe the braxton contractions are the same: with each pregnancy they get a litlle stronger, who knows. Congratulations on your girl though just think of all the fun ahead!!

Both BH contractions and post-partum contractions get way stronger with each pregnancy...you can imagine what they're like by the 6th time!

Thanks for the congrats; she'll fit right in with her 5 big sisters! They're super excited!

I know it is really early, but I am almost sure I had one in the middle of the night recently. It just felt like everything tensed up for a second or two. It woke me up.

Oh Shi I feel for you. Those were two of the things I hated most about my pregnancy. My BH were so intense at times that my OB thought I was in early labor I had to go in for that fetal monitoring three times a week in the last month and it was always moving off the chart. After the third trip to the hospital, they realized I just have strong BH
At least you're over half way there!!!

Entirely possible; I felt them hella early each time. You are thin, so you're more likely to feel lots of things early, including baby flutters! Stay well-hydrated to keep them at bay...it does help.

Mine never actually hurt, but I remember I went in to L&D with my 5th because the tightenings were like 5-6 minutes apart...I was like 33 weeks. My cervix never budged, thank God, but they were weak and regular. They slowed down, but never fully stopped. They said my uterus was "irritable". Well, they haven't met its irritable owner yet!

Oh Shi, I know exactly where you are coming from! It's not complaining! You have to tell us and get it off your chest b/c dh's just don't understand.

BH contractions drove me NUTS! I had them really bad. With my first I had to go on a medication to stop them, but that was towards the end.

Probably the worst thing for me was the nighttime leg cramps and the stabbing vagina pain, which came towards the end.

You should feel free to come to this thread and say how you are feeling or what is bothering you that day. I would "complain" daily to my mom b/c she totally got it.

I have been having BH contractions since I was 20 weeks or so. They are worse this pregnancy and I definitely felt them earlier this time. They suck! I drink so much water. I dread doing lots of errands because I always have to pee! They don't tickle and seem to get a tad worse each week. On top of that, this kid likes to move and always seems to sit on my bladder!

Mine never really hurt either just major tightening!!! I had to be monitored b/c I had had 2 placental tears (that healed thankfully) and then at 32 weeks there was a problem w/ the flow (oxygen/nutrients) to and from the baby (forget the name of what it is) so she wasn't growing at the rate they wanted her to. By week 34 things righted themselves and she ended up just fine but of course they kept monitoring me anyway to be sure. Half the time I didn't think the BH were too bad but the contraction monitor said otherwise. They finally caught on it's just cause I was small! LOL. And yes Shi, feel free to come and complain here, you know we don't mind plus most of us know what you're going through (unlike the SO's).

I thought I was having those when I was actually going into labour. It didn't dawn on me till the pain started getting stronger and stronger and you know the rest. He was about 3 weeks early and I was soooo not ready. lol

I cannot in my wildest dreams imagine being pregnant 6 times. My first ( and so far only XD) time almost killed me. You must be the ultimate superwoman and you have the right to complain as much as you can! How fantastic is it to have 6 girls? Poor hubby, I predict a lot of hormonal moodswings in his near future.

Complaining about pregnancy is fine by me.

I have only two kids, and there is a reason for that:
Also a reason they are 10 years apart.

What ticks me off more, is the people that have told me how they

LVE being pregnant!!!

I could never understand that at all.

I love my kids fine, Yes, the baby was worth it,
but I despised being pregnant.
