I'm pregnant...

Okay guys, it's been years since I've been on here regularly, but I loved it when I was! This will be my first, and I am so excited while having no idea what I am doing. I've been scanning through old posts for advise on maternity clothes and such, but I haven't been very successful. Is anyone else currently pregnant who wants to share experiences, offer advice, etc? Or anyone else who wants to jump in... I could certainly use some girl support through all of this. I'm quite overwhelmed atm.

What kind of help or advice are you looking for? I had a baby 16 months ago and will probably start trying for another soon. Would love to help you out with any advice I can.
I'm not really sure where to start as far as clothing goes, but if you could give me some insight on what it is you want I could definitly give you my thoughts.
For now the only thing that pops into my head is don't wear plunging v-necks! Lots of mat shirts seem to have necklines like this. If you are one of the people who end up with big boobs everyone will be looking. If you are like me and they don't change much, you will still have people telling you your boobs are getting huge which you end up just feeling like punching them because your boobs are pretty much the size they always have been (but thanks for noticing!).

As far as jeans go, I tried all the different waist types and brands so could you a little insight on those too. For example I bought a pair of J Brand Mama Js. They have thick triangular elastic inserts in each side of the waist band. I thought these were awfully uncomfortable when I first bought them, but wore them anyways (usually with a tank top tucked into them under my shirt for the first while). The seams where the elastic met the denim just dug in like crazy. But after "I broke them in" they were one of my fave pairs. R&Rs with the adjustable waists were nice, I wore them all the way through my pregnancy but especially liked them for the first 6 months when I wasn't a super huge tank, and then post pregnancy too when I wasn't back down to size quite yet, but didn't want to look like I was wearing maternity jeans still. The conversion style that you see a lot on ebay with the small elastic waist band attached aren't great in my opinion for the full pregnancy (just the first 4 or 5 months and then post pregnancy), I found those restricting and difficult to sit in for any amount of time. I prefer the conversion with the full belly panel, even if you do have to give them a hoist every so often. I have a good mix of maternity jeans in my collection, some factory, some conversions, both are almost equally as great in comparison, so I'm not super picky either way which I'm buying, as long as they are a waistband style I like.
Turns out I had more to say than I thought! lol

Feel free to PM me if you have any more personal questions too.

Thanks everyone! Blond@heart, yay, thank you so much!

I'm only about 2 months, so I'm not even sure when I'm going to be needing to buy new clothes. I can already see a tiny bump, but obviously not much yet. My boobs feel HUGE already, and they hurt! Haha.

A few of my jeans are already tight in the thighs, so I'm nervous about being unprepared and having nothing to wear for work! How early did you have to start sizing up/buying maternity clothes?

Also, there are no places in town that I'm aware of selling maternity clothes (not that I've ever looked before!). I would probably have to travel at least 45 minutes to find any decent clothes, so it's not something I want to put off if I can start browsing online and preparing myself!

It seems that a lot of people like the Bella Bands, so I might try to order one of those pretty early on. Fortunately, thanks to my procrastination, I still have a few pairs of jeans that are a bit too big, so I'm hoping those will be a decent fit to get me through some of the growing!

Also, off the topic of clothing, I haven't told my family or more than two people yet! As far as support and advice, I guess I'm just reaching out for anything I can get my hands on to make me more knowledgeable and save myself the hassle of finding things out AFTER they would be helpful.

My first prenatal appointment is on Thursday, so I'm sure that will give me all kinds of new information as well. I'm so excited! I'm just trying to be as prepared as possible. Talking to people who have been there is a great way to learn from the rest of you!
