maternity jean sizing

I am in desperate need of a nice pair of premuim maternity jeans, so tired of wearing sweats and old navy jeans, but I have idea as to sizing??? I am going to get a used pair off ebay so I don't have to pay too much for something that I will only need for 5 months. Anyway, did you ladies find that you needed to size up or went with your pre-pregnancy size tia

ps. I'm looking at either Paige/Seven or Joe's if that helps.

I had to size up 1-2 sizes for premium denim (although I did not size up for Motherhood, Gap, Old Navy, etc) so it depends.

I have a few pairs listed by Amber on Ebay so you can view the different styles, etc. You'll want to decide if you prefer the under the belly kind of the full belly panel. Everyone is different with how they fit, what they prefer, etc.

I will say it's worth it to invest in a nice pair though. I tried some from other stores and the denim is typically scratchy.

I actually stayed the same or went up only one size. But I also gained less then 20lbs with each child.

I LOVED my designer maternity jeans when I was pregnant. But with the last child I also wore many of my regular jeans/pants with a bella band all the way through. I didn't really gain anywhere but my belly so I was able to do that. Not all women are like that though.

Invest in a bella band if you haven't already (or a couple). They are great for when you can't quite button your pants but fit into them everywhere else. They are really snug over the top of your jeans so you just leave your jeans unbuttoned and also wear a long shirt. It makes it look like you just have a cami on under your shirt. They are so nice to wear the few months after you have baby when you can't quite fit back into your jeans still.

I bought my wife a pair of Paige's from Sierry Lane's online store. She really liked them and was able to wear them the entire pregnancy. I actually had bought her TR maternity jeans, but she prefered the elastic that comes over the belly, instead of the smaller elastic band on the TR's.

She went up one size on the Paige's and they fit her perfect.

Bella bands are nice, but I kinda felt like my pants were falling down and I didn't like how the flaps would bunch up and show through my shirt. I was constantly adjusting it to look just right.

I actually preferred this little insert that hooks on to the button and makes your pants fit more like they fit when buttoned. I comes in different sizes so it 'grows with you' so to speak.
