Need some advice!!

Evan has a nasty cough and lots of drainage from his nose. He is also teething, so the poor little guy is completely miserable. He will not sleep in his bed. He will only sleep if he can sleep with me in my bed. No naps whatsoever because again he wants to be held. I am at my wits end.... is there anything I can do to make him comfortable? I have been putting baby Vicks on him at night so that he can breathe and sleep better. I also give him tylenol IF he is really super crabby and I can tell that his teeth are hurting.

Aww, poor little guy have you tried a vaporizer in his room? We found it to be helpful to help them breathe better at night, and the simple monotone sound of it would keep them sleeping. Maybe once his cough/cold clears up some he'll go back to sleeping in his own bed. Since he's not feeling well, I think he just wants the added comfort of mommy close by, I know mine did Otherwise sounds like you're doing everything you can to keep him comfortable

Connor was doing all of the same stuff last month and I chalked it up to teething...turns out he had a double ear infection I felt awful when the Dr told me. I thought for SURE it was just teething and his brother bringing home germs from PreSchool! Maybe take him in to get checked out just in case

When Fletch gets congested a warm bath before bed seems to help loosen up the mucus and helps him breathe better. Not sure if a bath and then vicks rub together are good though....Also, a couple of yrs ago I read something about putting vicks rub on the the childrens feet and putting socks on them at bed and it's supposed to help. I did this with Vera and Mia a few times and it really worked (not sure if it was a coincidence though) Hopefully it's just teething and not an ear infection, but I would try a warm bath before bed. I hope he feels better, poor little man (and Mom!!)

^^Yep I do put the vicks on his feet and then put his socks on. It does work IMO. My concern is putting it on him and then leaving the house....I don't want to open him up too much. So I just do it at night.

Maddie has been getting some nasty colds -- so I took her to her pediatrician and he recommended a vaporizer (already noted ) and also placing a pillow or something under the head of her mattress to help with the drainage He told me the slight incline (with the head raised) should help with the drainage and help them sleep better

Good luck Danielle and hope your little Evan gets better

Vaporizer does help and his head is elevated because he sleeps on my arm.

I hugged him for you Shi.....he sneezed on me and then gave me a great big spongebob smile. Thanks for the extra boogs.

Other than the vaporizer, I had Luca sleep in his carseat (reclined) in his room.
He would be in a semi-sitting position, and it helped drain the mucus, instead of being stuffed.
